It's the webtoon's fault. The novel also does a time skip but gives it a bit more time. The webtoon just goes "N yrs later, ML finds MC in one chapter". Which, yeah, the novel also does that immediately but it doesn't feel as jarring.
So yeah. The translation is good. The webtoon adaptation itself is awkward here.
