recently reread this manga after i started to get into part 2 more and holy fuck, i forgot how fucking good fujimoto is at writing stories. part 1 was so conclusive and well written even though i knew what was happening and what came next, all the plot points and deaths still hit like a truck going 50 kms over the speed limit. i love how the story only ever focuses on denji and his relationships with all the other characters because it makes you feel so much more empathetic towards his predicament. his relationship specifically with aki, power, makima and pochita really stood out to me. denji saying he wouldn't gaf if power and aki died, only to find himself impossibly close to them only to have them ripped away from him. makima knowing he had a difficult childhood and using it against denji just so she can have pochita'sheart, denji understanding this and still loving her despite everything shes done. and wow, this most recent chapter with pochita asking denji what hes gonna dream of next really soldified the amount of care and adoration that cute chainsaw dog has for denji. part 2 is super promising so far and i cant wait to find out what fujimoto has in store for asa and denji.
