My first time discovering bl was from a Gachalife series I watched that I mistakenly thought was straight romance. After a few minutes of watching, I was shocked to find out that the couple were both men and I had an odd feeling about it. I stopped watching it but then I got curious and went back to watch it again and in the end I enjoyed it.

Just my opinion. I just noticed some (SOME) people find it disappointing when a ML looks bland or just not have the most handsomest face amongst all the male characters in the story. Like why?? Does a male lead really require a handsome face, or has to be the most handsomest in all the kingdom?? At least for me, no. I don't care what the male leads appearance is, as long as he treats the FL right and is as green as the forest that's peak ML right there.
So far there is only 2 stories I have read that people called the ML bland.
