As someone who has family members (parents and siblings) that I grew up with yet have no blood relation to both male and female I can say, while actually considering the matter for a fair conclusion, that without a doubt people *can* still be family without any romantic or lustful thoughts.
This author has decided that if there is no blood connection there is bound to be complications and that is demonstrably wrong, in fact this manga makes me think the author either doesn't have experience with non-blood related family or has some "interesting" thoughts about their own family, something I hear isn't too uncommon in Japan? It is certainly encouraged in a lot of media over there.
It isn't normal to fall in love with siblings you've grown up with just because you found out you aren't connected by blood and I think it's an insult to thousands of families in these situations that the author thinks it is, it looks down on the familial bonds so many have despite their circumstances.
At chapter 4 and already the author wrote in a woman falling in love with a literal baby and even kisses them. Vile. It's so creepy and gross and judging by the other female characters they are likely going to act the same way in a chapter or two. To a LITERAL WEEKS OLD BABY. There is literally no reason the author couldn't have aged up the ML before writing in the romance. Disgusting.

That was great, a nice ending too, Pochita eating himself out of existence to save Denji, inadvertently saving the world too. There could have been more answers I suppose like who were the devils at the end, what are the goals of the ones "employing" Denji in this timeline, what exactly has changed and to what extent without a chainsaw man ever having existed, how he got his powers of true death to begin with and I think it's a shame a lot of experiences the characters went through and grew from disappeared with the timeline, indeed this ending did feel like a deus ex machina (character does a thing and it's all fixed in an instant) but I will say it is far from the worst ending I've ever experienced (MHA, JJK, Dressup Darling among others)

Objectively? Maybe you're right. Subjectively though I felt a *lot* more closure from this than MHA's ending or any of the others. MHA's might be a hundred times better but in the end I feel like I had a hundred more questions that weren't answered too, y'know? Of course there's gonna be pros and cons to everything right? Every ending is gonna do a certain thing better than anothers, it's just a matter of preference and this is just mine, I won't fault anyone thinking I'm insane haha, I do get it.
Encrid is going to be so powered up after this, i mean this ain't just the madmen giving him advice and training regimes, dude is literally trapped training with someone fighting him at full power, non-stop, with advanced swordplay in a room that goes 3x slower like it's some hyperbolic time chamber *and* a guide to give him tips on the side, this is like the one piece time skip. Really excited to see just how much of a beast he is after this..
It's about a 22+ year old trying to date a schoolgirl while posing as his younger self, he even puts on an act just to get closer, something that his childhood friend is in on. Even if he wasn't blatantly manipulating her and his new friends the dude is flirting with a 14-15 year old with the mind and experience of a 22 year old (yes I did the math, highschool + 7 years I'm pretty sure?). It's very gross.
Wouldn't be quite so bad if his goal wasn't purely to make a little girl fall in love with him, something he literally says is his goal.. that's just creepy even if they are the same age.
It's all idealistic, a fantasy that's difficult to take seriously, very cliché, an obvious self-insert daydream.
Glasses dude doesn't know her true self but is acting jealous and.. a lil possesive? Just cause she was a little nice to him and has the same parental situation? Whereas white hair has a better, closer connection that real friends have and more than anything actually shares interests with her, sure her true identity is hidden but glasses dude doesn't even know she games! Him looking out at her and Hanjun with jealousy is a big red flag for me, that's psycho behaviour.
Guess we'll never know what happened with the company that was desperately searching for Marin, whether everyone that saw her Haniel cosplay ever found her again in perhaps other cosplay, what happened with Juju and the others or who her friend had children with and I guess we'll never know what their wedding ceremony was like either, it's just over. It was a pleasant ending with them being family and celebrating but it arrived far, far, far too early.
It's a trend I've noticed recently in manga, abrupt endings that do not properly conclude the story nor the branching plots they developed along the way.
I heard that the author is still in high school and ended the manga this way cause they needed to focus on their studies... we should give them some grace even tho I am very very sad that it ended this way ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄
It's a shame but at least it was because of that and not something some editor/publisher forced, I respect them prioritising bettering themselves and future prospects over satisfying a fanbase.
Idk if that’s possible since the manga started 7 years ago? Unless she was like 10 or 11 when it started
It's got some really amazing artwork and I like that the protagonist is a psychotic killer as opposed to most isekai protagonists.
However, the story moves way, *way* too fast to the point it feels like whole chapters are missing, timeskips with no substance (no training montage, no growth comparison etc.) are abundant, the protagonist is just suddenly strong now, knows how his skills work, knows how to use them to his advantage and is even known to the public as some kind of disguised saviour that has already take down 2 or 3 notorious gangs despite him being a poor slave that only just started killing only a chapter ago.
The biggest issue is every character dies. All of them. It feels like there's no reason to care about any character whatsoever because they'll be dead in a few chapters anyway and probably not even by the protagonist. I would ask the author "if there is naught but ashes remaining what is left to strive for?", it makes for a boring story when everyone in it is dead.
There should be 200+ chapters out already but it feels like they condensed it all into (what is out as of typing this) 35.
