Even if you suffered you don't have to make suffer others, you can think to them too. Just to see how ml sis suffered from the curse and how all of them are I'll during their childhood its an hell. Sure but thats not à reason to hurt them either, since they're the 1rst ones to know hell ( if I can say it like that). Sophie mom should have probably felt betrayed cause they hide her the curse and once her husband died well she became vengeful.

She probable developed trauma. Put yourself in her place, most people wouldn’t love their child in that situation. I wouldn’t be surprised if she hated him too.
Probably yeah if she has trauma ( or not ) she could hates him. If I push the thing à little further she can even say the family cost her, her happyness ( now if she was a good person I wpuld feel for her, if she was just interested in money ans power well a lot less).
