I WATCHED MONSTER (2023) AND NOW I AM LEFT DEVASTED. PLS can you recommend me more similar of this film? (specifically kids falling in like/love) but with a clear ending, conclusion. cuz I AM SOOOO TIRED OF THINKING THANKYOU
Omg I was doing some reading on the director and found out this latest movie of his. I watched the trailer and I find it extremely intriguing. So many bits of information but still very vague so you can't figure out the plot, which I appreciate. I completely forget abt this movie until I saw your post, so now I want to watch it, can you describe your experience with it?? No spoilers please
sorry i am so bad at explaining and my eng sucks but it was a long ride and full of twists. it shows multiple pov but I like the last pov cuz there it explains a lot but i still feel like it's complicated that's why i loved/hated it
The ending left me in devastation i literally just woke up and already thought of the film i love them sm (dw it's not a sad ending tho)
Oh wow. I did end up watching the movie and it was indeed a ride. I really like how the movie seems like just one thing happened, but then you get the multiple perspectives from different characters and it all builds up until the end. It's also very well-shot and I very much enjoyed it! After that ending, I was in tears and confused but the ending can be interpreted in any way you want (open-ended), even the director says so, apparently.
I can recommend 'Close' (French movie), which deals with stuff similar to this movie, though I haven't watched it myself, the reviews are very positive, so I think you might enjoy it (tho I heard it's a tearjerker). I also highly recommend 'His'. The first part is a drama series (released in 2019) where the leads are in middle/high school, and the sequel movie (released in 2020) continues to when they are adults. I can assure you, you will love this, I really adore them so much to the point I rewatched the movie recently lol.
I'm sorry if I've typed too much, I'm trying to watch more series and movies so some are still fresh in my mind. If you don't mind these (since it's not what you ask for), try watching 'In Between Seasons' (Korean movie, which talks about a mother who finds out about her son's relationship with his best friend...there's a lot of sad stuff in this one), the other one is 'Moonlit Winter' (Korean movie, about two estranged high school friends who now live separate lives in different countries. One of them has a daughter who finds out about their letter exchanges and tries to get her mother to go to Japan to meet her friend. This has less angst than the other, and more positive and less open-ended. One of my fave recent watches). I hope you get to watch and enjoy some of these!
Waah that's a lot, thankyou sm, I'll watch all these when i have time and when i get over this film yet but i kept rewatching it cuz I can't get enough of them lmao even though it's an open-ending i searched for other people's view and explanation at the end and they really gave me more depth of the story that 'His' seemed super angsty i should ready my tissue
Exactly!! This movie makes me want to watch the director's other movies. It's still making me think about so many things, a rewatch definitely makes it a much better experience.
Oh yea, be sure to have something to wipe away your tears for His. I know I cried way too many times even at the simple scenes
I need more painfully pining tops. thankyou.
also if you know a novel too or old series yey.

thankyou. ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄
Are you fine with mangaka characters? Blue Period's pretty unique in its approach but this has a slightly similar concept.

Also something more fitting to the writing aspect would probably be the anime Whisper of the Heart, although it's not similar to Blue Period.
