jihwans crazy but its refreshing to see a webtoon have a character like this and have it be acknowledged as abusive, unhealthy, and disgusting rather than gloss over it as romantic at least that way we know its supposed to be taken as tragic and frightening if sooyoung rlly ends up with him rather than a happy ending

honestly this is a perfect example of why relationships between people of different backgrounds are so difficult to maintain if you grow up that differently you have that much of a harder time understanding each other. woowon grew up having to basically give up personal happiness for survival, so now he's constantly questioning himself and he's reluctant to share his burdens with someone else. seoan is technically correct that /his/ decisions can very easily solve all of woowon's problems, but because his family never valued empathy or kindness—just problem solving and leadership—he doesn't really treat woowon like an equal. their relationship is so unbalanced, it was pretty inevitable that they'd face problems like this.

i feel like this is very clearly a satire of classic bl tropes (pretty bottom, oblivious younger puppy top, obsessive black haired rich top with no respect for boundaries) so idgaf if its creepy or weird its HILARIOUS

whenever there's conflict in a bl commenters tend to start complaining about lack of communication, but this story perfectly shows why "communication" is so difficult—vulnerability and honesty go beyond simply "talking." communicating your feelings doesn't come with a guarantee that you'll convey your thoughts eloquently, or you'll even be accepted. and when you have unresolved trauma and mental illness, everything snowballs. their tumultuous story really show how toxic and painful relationships can grow to be when you try to fill in those broken gaps with someone's love without learning how to navigate your own reality first.
