this webtoon has been one of my favorites for so so long... oh my gosh the knot in my heart everytime i reread this. it's so satisfying the way the characters calcualate their revenge and get their amazingly sweet and wonderful ending. the main character and ML are beautifully perfect soulmates for each other... such a wonderful tale of revenge and it was pretty amusing to watch everything to go down as well.
this manhwa is just a big old wowww- i heard it was becoming an animation so i FINALLY decided to finish it. oh my gyatt i did not regret it, this was honestly such an emotional roller coaster and experience. I absolutely love Penelope and all the characters... I cheered on Eckels (until he became a butt) and Winter at first; but CASTILLOOOO the man you've BECOME. I'm so happy that she decided to stay with Castillo and got her happy ending.. I also find it an absolute CRIME that THERE'S NO WEDDING EPISODE... HELLO??? ... anyway Castillo I love you, i think you won all of our hearts <3
I genuinely love how wholesome and warm this whole story feels!! It was well written and I love how many messages this webtoon sends to the readers. It teaches you how to love oneself even when you don't fit into standard conventions... additionally how true beauty is on the inside, small acts of kindness go a long way, the importance of a loving community, the importance of family, whether it's communication or rekindling with family after conflicts... At the same time, it's a cute slow burn romance between Gwen and Frederick.
Seriously 10/10 recommend this.

Rashtas uprising was unfair to her because she was heavily manipulated by high society and overall corrupted in the end. She is not a bad person by nature; however she lost herself through the series until her inevitable downfall. She honestly deserved a much better life where she could live happily and free without the fear of betrayal. THIS IS EMPEROR SHITSOUS FAULT!!! HE SUCKS BOOO
This also doesn't justify any of her actions before and during her reign as the empress. She made very poor decisions which were often illegal and cruel... but then again, in almost every circumstance, she was manipulated and played by the two people she trusted most (Emperor Sovieshu and Duke Ergi)... Her having massive trust issues doesn't help either.
Rashta was their pawn and she was thrown into the imperial tank without any preparation. In the end, she is the most interesting and tragic character throughout the entire series; thus making her my favorite character.
The series is so compelling and well written. It's been years since I finished this series and I honestly almost forget how much I loved it.
The twist very unexpected and it totally caught me off guard, though maybe because I was so young.
If you like webcomics with a hint of romance, some comedy and a compelling mystery, I would give this one a try :D...
