The kiss was cute but at a absolutely terrible timing. There was absolutely no chemistry no pining or longing, they just did it. And at a time that was full of suspence and drama. The kiss kinda felt like just being a device to get the reader to get on with the story without addressing his grandmother and mother's backstory. Like when a couple is fighting and the man would just start touching and kissing the girl, if you know what I mean. IT'S NOT THE RIGHT TIMING

They are kids that don't know better that was the perfect context but the grandma storyline should have been done separately
I see your point as well, I guess I’m just used to the slow romance storylines (I still think it was a little rushed tho)
