Wait this chapter was so wholesome?? Like, the conversation was beautiful, no dramatics or bad faith just a pure mutual conversation. Them finding the brother was long awaited and such a nice relief. I hope no incest shit happens (please tell me my spidey senses are tingling for the wrong reasons) and the last panel was hilarious lmaooo
No, no, I don’t think it’s any weird aura in that sense. I think it’s just justified resentment towards the man whose father ended their whole clan, and now said man has taken his big brother into custody as his crown princess. I would be pissed off too, like get tf away from my family already, you did enough damage in the past, you and your mad father lol (I love the couple, but ofc ml needs to be held accountable because he was basically an adult and he could’ve done something to prevent the executions)
How was the crown prince supposed to stop the executions on Sinpyeong? He didn’t even know about it…unless I missed something. The father/king was mad when the prince not only completed the task he set out for him to fail in when he sent him n his attendant to help the sick ppl of sinpyeong, but he also came back with his eyesight restored. So ofc the palace was all talking about the prince and calling him the black sable tiger god and this drove the king mad, thinking he was trying to usurp the throne from him so he purposely sent his son on another mission which sounded like a death sentence and while he was off traveling to another area, he had the ppl in sinpyeong framed and killed Doran’s clan esp his grandpa and mom since they were the leaders of the clan and they tried keeping the peace but ofc the assholes sent by the king were just sent there to kill them (and likely every place the prince went that he sent him to after he came back victorious, the king would surely frame them n have them killed or imprisoned as slaves) so it’s not like he could do much or even had much knowledge until after the fact
This is more so about the ‘representation of royalty’ than his individual personal responsibility. He is the crown prince so he quite literally represents all the doings of his kingdom. I think he is also quite aware of this which is why he is apologetic himself. Heavy is the head that wears the crown
If he was a human you would be completely right, but he is not, let’s not forget that. He is a divine being with powers, one of them is his enhanced hearing ability and basically teleporting, so there is really no justification, especially when he said to Doram that he would be there for him and protect him, that their deity didn’t matter, that it would be HIM protecting Doram and everything that matters to him. Doram needed him only one time and look at what happened. I would be so fckng pissed off being the sibling, and I also think that Doun KNOWS that his big brother had already died because of being the crown prince (if he doesn’t know and he is defensive like that, then brace yourselves)
You’re right he’s a divine being but he’s even explained his powers only go so far..and he’s not literally god who can hear everything throughout the whole country or world. He couldn’t hear Doran’s cries as a child from that far away. He can hear basically all throughout the palace when he’s at the palace so maybe a football field or so around him, and we don’t know where he was exactly when the king ordered sinpyeong to be framed and killed but as we saw, he had a strong appreciation for Doram immediately because he didn’t sense any resentment, greed, malice or selfish tendencies or motives in his words or actions almost as if Doram was the only human with a gentle and kind soul with a pure heart and he immediately felt Doram was special. I don’t believe he would’ve just turned a blind eye completely to his pain. Maybe he wouldn’t have cared about his family so much since he doesn’t understand the bond and love humans feel for family but he felt something for the first time when he met Doram and he was able to gain his sight because of it. Anyways, my point is I don’t think he would’ve turned his back on Doram if he had heard his cries. And heavy wears the crown, yes but at that time he was just the prince and had no real real royal power. And even his deity powers were limited. He also just said, there were/are things he’s still not even sure about when it comes to his powers. And considering he’s not programmed to think in the same way a human thinks, considering he’s a deity and like a beast, it makes sense he doesn’t understand emotions the way we do. The first time he’d even felt despair like us was when he held Doram’s lifeless body in his arms

Am I in the minority for liking how the plot is going lol I enjoy the break up arch and I don’t think they’re milking it at all it’s just… a normal pace unlike the fast pace of everything else
I agree! I think this is a nice development of their relationship and totally understandable plot point especially given the initial premise of the story
I like it too
im loving it
