Read the spoilers and I don't feel like finishing it. I hate how these authors make the seemingly smart and strong female character's journey such contrived bs.
Guys, I think she's just slow. She zones out in the middle of conversations and realizes the consequences of her actions when they're knocking at her door.
I started reading it here a while back because her character pissed me off. It keeps getting worse.
"I know what I'm doing is wrong" oh! That makes it all better then!
Like what's the scenario? She figures out she actually doesn't like him, is just afraid of him, and then what? If she were afraid she would've thought about the psychotic "husband" back home that believes this made up reality she created, whom she now has to go back to, and hide the fact that she went on a series of blind dates while "married" to him.
Best case, she does like him, continues the lie, and ends up with hiding the fact she went on a series of blind dates while "married" to her psychotic husband...
The way these authors make such characters so stupid so that they can have a convenient plot device whenever they like
