The depiction of the complicated and enmeshed nature of abuse was done in such an efficient and fantastic manner. It's hard to leave or hate someone when you learned to love them first.

My biggest pet peeve for all "I'm going to leave the ML" stories is that the FL keeps mentioning over and over that she's going to disappear/not get involved AND YET behaves in a way that does the opposite.
The line stating "I don't want to be with him, but I don't want him to get hurt either" or whatever made me rolllllll my eyes because if you truly wanted to stick to your goal, you would've known logically he's obviously ok.
