Its not often that this happens, but this story and its ending made me so frustrated, angry and sad that it ruined my whole day.
The mc was such a young and sweet person but Ordin ruined him. When they met in mc first life the mc was mentally 10 years old and confused (because he ran away when he was 10 and fell in a lake in the darkness for a period of time and when he came out ~15 years had passed).
Ordins first action was to rape mc when he met him. It was said that he made mc do things that he didnt want and that he abused him in bed. Its disgusting. I have read rape stories but in them the abuser is not made out to be the “good” guy, but here Ordin was. The whole artwork and framing of him made him the hero - someone that is a little flawed in some ways but mostly good to the mc and others.
After the whole imprisonment thing i just…my heart sank. Yes Fenrir was a dark creature, but he was mc only friend. The only one that loved him unconditionally. I think Ordin couldn’t cope with that. Couldn’t picture anybody being and helping the mc other than him.
The ending also sucked. Wdym mc so quickly forgets Fenrir that just died for him and embraces Ordin that imprisoned him and would have killed Fenrir if he wouldnt have died there. It just left such a bitter taste in my mouth. Im not saying mc should love Fenrir but the whole situation is just so wrong on so many levels.
I understand that this was supposed to be a lighthearted manga, but it just left me wondering if they just wanted to dismiss the harsh concepts that they explored in the story with the stupid joked and the sex. The story cant be lighthearted if the underlying themes are rape, death, misery, misfortune, codependency and toxic relationships.
There were some many other things in this story that disturbed me, but I will not make this that long.
I know maybe this sounds harsh, but the story started so lightheartedly and sweetly that when all of these horrible things stared to be revealed in such a dismissive manner I just got so upset. I kept thinking about all of this and more and maybe someone also feels this way - that this story was not just team Ordin or team Fenrir but so much more.
Yeah when mc backstory came up I was like ain’t no way Rodin did all of that to him shit was so weird and mc obviously didn’t think it was weird or wrong bc he was alone and wanted love so he attached himself to him it’s fucked up and I’m just disappointed at the ending and that I stayed up all night reading this for nothing
This is just unnecessary frustrating. I will be stepping back from this
