For a moment I was convinced she actually died and left him a letter written before passing. And that last scene to be just Shinpei deluding himself or hallucinating.
Now. I get that he misunderstood and though her to be dead, leading him to wander around.. but could she send people to look for him anyway? To ask about his whereabout and try to track him down?
50 years apart to reunite when you're so old.. bullshit ending.

I usually have a strong stomach for stories like this, I'm pretty fine with dark and icky stuff, but this one is really tiring me out.
The silent promise should be I stomach the shit, but the story should give me progress. But here there no progress whatsoever, were in the old same loop of rape after rape, and he's still a powerless captive.
I love how this comic started without a clear direction and wonky art stile and the it grew and you can clearly see the progress both in the narrative and the art.
