Bro, idk what it is about this comic, but I have tried like 5 different times, have reached ch 45, and cannot find myself interested in it at all. Even though the steamy scenes are good, the rest of it is just meh. I'm not even talking about character behavior cuz I'm not invested at all, but I can't pinpoint what it is that is so lackluster.
I enjoyed the few chapters available for the author's other work '2020' so much, I just knew her other work would be good. This webtoon was really good! The characters and story were interesting and hooked me! And the art just kept getting better. I even gasped and clutched my neck at some of the sexy stuff haha. This mangaka definitely has a type for her seme/uke. So glad I read it because it ties in with 2020 which I am thoroughly enjoying too
I found myself enjoying this manhwa so much that I figured I should read the novel first (cuz ppl always say read the novel first). But I'm confused because the novel was going so well, written vividly and concisely but just as I got to the last part I found myself thinking I had a enough and everything was just dragging. Idk how to describe it tbh, because it's not a bad ending nor a bad story, but I lost all enthusiasm for the manhwa because of how I felt about the novel in the end. Just saying, if you like the comic, stick to the comic and read the novel after if you feel like it.
I can't see the flag for spoilers so I'm gonna leave some space.....
*******Spoilers***********
-heesu finds the business card from the female guide and loses it thinking that yugeon is trying to leave
-this leads to both him and chan dp-ing yugeon
-before shinje can do anything more than beat them up a bit, they are called to rescue yugeons brother, who was missing
-yugeon's brother dies dramatically, but honestly it was always gonna happen
-they prepare to go into mazzaroth, cuz everything is going to hell and it's growing out into the normal world
-they defeat almuten, erehwon is dismantled
-yugeon ends up living with shinje
-the other 3 find their own version of life/peace without yugeon
Honestly there is no real happy ending, it's just the only ending that anyone would expect.
Just for fun, here's an excerpt from the end of the novel where someone asks yugeon if he likes shinje:
"It's not a simple matter of liking or disliking."
"He owes me a lot. Enough to devote his whole life to me. Until he pays it all back, even if he tries to leave..... I won't allow it. I can't."
His hand holding the coffee cup tensed up. The calm surface of the latte slightly shook with a quiet splash. Yugeon lowered his gaze from looking at the night view in front of him and continued his words as if engraving them in his heart.
"He's mine. Just like I am his."
So yeah...I guess yugeon chose shinje because in their terrible circumstances, they somehow find comfort in each other.
And I'm getting tingly all over
Chapter 2...and I'm in love lol.
