Id like a manhwa with an mc thats like aaron whos just trying his best to keep up with his more talented comrades. Who isn't just gifted his powers and becomes op overnight

If the prince is on 80th floor then i guess from 81 onwards theyll fight what actually caused the end of the world?

GrassFudge October 16, 2025 2:46 pm

I've been looking for a manhwa in this genre where the mc is in a capable team for so long. I'm glad it's not one of those stories where only the mc can get stronger

Just started this but i keep seeing this trope in other stories. Is it actually a feature in mmorpg games that failing a probability check to enhance a weapon just destroys it??? I've not really played an mmorpg so like is this just a thing manhwa creators decided or do games actually do this. It sounds so cruel?? i would probably cry if i put in effort or money to get a weapon and then it breaks when i upgrade it

    Lingz October 5, 2025 3:09 am

Yeah it's a real thing, I remember playing MapleStory and they had a similar mechanic of the weapon going "boom" if the enhancement fails. Heard that it's a way to limit too many weapon duplicates from boss drops and "preserving" their value in the economy, but honestly it's just a scummy way for the company to make more money.

Nowadays, I would say that this feature is less common, partly due to the backlash from players about fairness and such. Instead, games could choose to implement a "downgrade" feature, enhancing with a chance of the weapon going back to +0, the original state. Some games also implement a "failsafe", where if you apply it to your weapon, it will guarantee a successful enhancement.

I feel like author didn't consider that society would've collapsed after the first round? 50% aged 15-29 just died globally. That's a significant % of the workforce, and a huge chunk of the consumer base. Economy is in shambles. Millions of children orphaned overnight. Millions of parents just lost their children. What did they do about the billion funerals? MC saying society could collapse soon because of players wreaking havoc, like no it should already be royally screwed.

If it at least looked like the real world was a mess it'd be one thing, but all we see are some articles on celebrities. We don't see how governments are handling this. People are acting like its business as usual?? How is the stock market not crashed??? 7,000,000 people died to covid over a few years and that was a disaster. This is like 100 times that in one day.

Finished the 3rd round now and they're still acting like it's fine at 1/8th the numbers. Do they eventually address it? I know fantasy stories don't have to be realistic but they based it in a modern world, which assumes it runs on similar logic to ours... im fine ignoring plot holes in stories but this just feels so massive i feel like asking about it.

Is it really significant of workforce? Cause the average age people who starts working full time is at age 23 years old, so from 23 to 29 years old you are just consider a newbie still in ur workplace..

And the life expectancy of Korea is 80+ years old, and their retirement is at 60, so a lot of older peoples are still in workforce.. I think they can still handle this much

For other country, i think some country with less populated will be more impacted but still in on the Younger generation, and not the older one

But this is just my thoughts/opinions so...

And it's not like the manhwa never mention it.. It shows when MC actually forbid his younger bro from going outside for months... Of course it bcs there are players who abuse their power but also there are social unrest, robberies and stuff

But i guess it didn't want to focus that much on that topics and focus on MC's regression bcs tbh it kinda like info dump? Cause it just irrelevant to the MC and what MC going to do

In the novel, it reveals more on other country's situation once MC travel more as novel progress

The impacted age range is about 30% of the workforce globally from what i found, so 15% of the workforce died overnight, which I'd say is significant. If it's about 10% in korea then 5% is lost which is not as bad but its still millions dead overnight. Again funerals and all that, so the parents of the dead are also impacted and won't be able to work for at least a short period.
Just because they're entry level jobs doesn't mean they don't need doing, and there's also all the part time jobs that teens/young adults do that wasnt part of the %.

Companies would find it hard to fill the shortage because chances are the people in a similar position to be hired are also dead now. Recruiting older people isn't easy either since they won't want to do an entry level job. Most of them have better jobs already. Governments would have to expand welfare, but at the same time tax income would have reduced so they will be stretched thin. They would have to force elderly people out of retirement to fill the shortage quickly or something.

It's also a sudden shock with no preparation time, so there's no measures in place to mitigate harm. Sure korea can recover but not straight away, there would be immediate mass chaos, with perhaps a gradual recovery. Imagine the panic if hundreds of millions died globally overnight. Just the fear would be enough to cause disruptions. But we don't see the fallout, the mc's brother goes to school and he discusses with his classmates which of their siblings in a death game is stronger? I think the lack of severity of the situation is what i find strange.

Also even if korea recovers short term, in the long term the country is completely finished without absurd amounts of immigration. Their birth rates are already so low that they weren't keeping up with demands. So now there's just no way they can sustain their population.

I don't mean this as a negative on the story itself btw since they really only seem to use it as a background scenario. I just wanted to point out that it doesn't seem fully thought through

I know he was like distrusting and all but if he was gonna be so distraught over her dying, he should've just shared his secret to getting stronger... like he'd already reached the max he could get in the area but she could've gotten much stronger, then she'd probably survive
