Words can't describe how unstatisfied I am after finishing vol 13 - again, almost 0 progress on Souchi's side.
Ok, that hug in the dream was fine and how sad he was when Mori left and stuff was really nice, but he is still in denial for the most part and doesnt show all his feelings to Mori, even after all this time.
Don't call me by my name, even when we are alone, and I won't call you by your name, cause names are special (ummmm... Isn't Morinaga special...?)
Grrrr I love this manga as it's one of my biggest childhood memories, but I can't help but feel a little dissapointed with almost each volume that came after volume 9

Manga was fully released and translated in Poland, and here, in volume 9 chapter 5, when Souichi talks about asking Morinaga to stay, it was translated to "I didn't decide to be with you with half-hearted feelings, I thought we can both make some compromises for this relationship' sake" - I don't recall Souichi aknowleding the fact that they are togather and in a relationship in english translation

When Morinaga ask him if he wants him to stay, he tells him he didin't mean it like stay in lab, he means to stay by his side
Yeah, I know it's obvious but I think that polish translation goes a bit too far for a small translation difference. It doesnt paraphrase the english one but changes the meaning entirely. I mean, I see the difference between being by someone's side (which can be said to your friend or family) and being togather, which imo is exclusive for romantic relationship. Kinda bugs me if I had to be honest, as I like the polish one much more (considering how slow the story goes), but as english is much more popular language, I'm afraid that this one comes closer to the real meaning :{ I wonder if senpai will ever say something like that in english translation, gotta wait and see
Serio wolicie czytać po polsku? Mnie strasznie odrzuciło tłumaczenie. Było bardziej (miejscami) wulgarne i generalnie było dziwne w porównaniu z angielską wersją.

and that's pretty much what he says they just made it more explicit in that translation..... which isn't necessarily wrong
English is much more popular but this is not an official translation like polish one ╮(￣▽￣)╭ KudoUsagi is translating it on it's own without any team, she also admits that she didn't translate all the volumes, and as i remember well, she said also that her older translation are kinda missed in some points compared to the new one :3 So i would take the english translation with a grain of salt
So i kinda prefer the official polish translation, tho i get you point completely ^^, i think every country has they own little translations difference
Szczerze nie wiem do końca co masz na myśli, bluzgi po polsku czy chcesz czy nie mają mocniejszy wydźwięk, angielskie to totalny soft. Wszystko jest kwestią gustu, ale jakoś fajnie mi się czyta, polskie tłumaczenie ma klimat i czuję do niego sentyment bo mangę czytam od dzieciństwa a wtedy po angielsku to mało kto umiał :}
Oh my, thank you for reminding me that this is not an official translation (￣∇￣") now I hope that the official english one says something similiar to the polish one (=・ω・=) it's just too big of a difference, to me it changes view for next volumes - like now that I put my trust in polish translation I know that Souichi thinks of Morinaga as a partner, not just a "guy that stays with him" - again, thanks for clearing it up for me! <3
wow... okay... I mean yes I've said I don't like my old translations because I wasn't very experienced and I wasn't good at phrasing back then but I don't think they're really wrong. But here, I'll tell you exactly what it says in Japanese and you can decide for yourself? lol

It doesn't say anything about compromises so the polish got that wrong if that's what it says. He's arguing with Morinaga about how he's measuring his feelings.
I'm sorry Usagi, i didn't mean that you got it wrong. And i wasn't talking about particularly this one, what i mean it to take the whole english translations with a grain of salt, not because it's wrong, i love and appreciate your translations.
I might say it in the wrong way. I wanted to tell that every translations have they own difference to make it more clear for the audience, i guess ?... (⊙…⊙ )
Oh, okay the measuring feelings part was in polish translation, so it seems like they twisted the following lines a little - I really know nothing about japanese, so there is no room for me to discuss anything, but I'm still grateful for taking your time to explains this to me somehow. Still, if you're saying that polish translation is likely to be wrong, that gets me kinda angry - its a very important line, shame that they had to translate it the way that it's getting me confused right now :( . Maybe I'm overthinking stuff. Anyway, I believe you but I choose to live in delusional world of polish translators where Senpai says outloud that they are in a relationship and other stuff ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
I've started reading english translation, then 2 years later I stumbled upon a polish one in Empik and i must say that the polish translation is - in some parts - cringe and i couldn't finish it. It's like translation forces you to laugh, but you're like wth...btw I've attached a link so u can see the differences.

I mean, I see the difference but I don't really mind it. But I also respect your opinion and understand that you may find it a lil cringy. But you know, its been like 10 years ago (release of the first vol in Poland), I own volumes from 1 to 10, and in my honest opinion, it has gotten "better" in latest volumes
