I've seen this being debated. Many people don't react well when a scene goes wrong. Like how people cant move or say anything when getting harassed etc... Similarly during scenes, sometimes things can get intense, and the person feeling uncomfortable may not be able to say anything or do anything out of shock. Etc. I've heard people also establish an action that should mean as stop (like squeezing arm or whatever 3 times. Etc) so hmmm
Right? It just depends on the person and dynamicm personally stop is a pretty staright forward one when u dont have any non-consentual vibes going on
IRL yeah it’s usually best to have a stoplight sorta system in regards to stopping/continuing in a different way. + Some kind of tap out in case they can’t speak.
As it is though, I get in fiction you gotta simplify things, it just totally baffles me how so many stories like this just don’t understand why the safe word is is used to begin with. If it’s just ‘stop’ it’s no different than you just saying that normally and can be super misleading

to further explain it can be misleading because (for example!) lets say the bottom is extra sensitive … sometimes the pleasure can be overwhelming, so u instinctively say ‘stop’ or fight against it because sometimes feeling good can be startling or overwhelming, but you don’t Actually want them to stop, you just feel really good. its important to know when someone really wants to stop vs when they’re just saying stop because they’re unused to pleasure or it feels too good
Just continuously popping out kids and being like ‘lol oopsie!
