!. Loved this story! ((Im talking about story so prob contains spoilers......)))
wow the ending exert really really hit deep. I kept thinking they were going to show the birds at the end... but they didnt. This is a fantasy that depicts reality sadly perfect. 'That if just one thing is eliminated, the world will continue on' in other words a sacrifice was needed. To let the boys abandon their roles and live like normal people, the feelings of just wanting this happy ending, was not enough for this story.... there had to be sacrifice.

Therefore, the birds sacrificed themselves to protect the lives of those they love and end up being the 'one thing eliminated'
To live on people will make sacrifice, or be sacrificed, or choose to sacrifice themself. Kuroto represents self sacrifice to save others by being sacrificed, Hanashiro represents sacrification of others to survive, he was willing to sacrifice the world and people for Kuroto, and lastly the birds represent self sacrifice because although they could have lived on (and the world would still be saved) they choose to be 'eliminated' to save the life and happiness of those they loved. No matter what scenario 'if just one thing is eliminated, the world will continue on' and the choose of what thing is eliminated is the proof we are more than puppets and forms history. Loved this story I do not understand why is has such a mediocre review

its so sad they didnt just get a 'everybody lives happily ever after' story.... they showed sacrifice is necessary, and for once I didnt even care if the world died same as Hanashiro , I thought if a world has to live by sacrificing someone like Kuroto, then it is better off not existing....... but I know that is how our world works as well even if we dont notice,
