I was so excited to read about politics and corruption blending with a forbidden romance and hyped myself up for a complex plot with character arcs but got SLOP! I couldn’t finish because of the complete jump ship towards smut with two dimensional characters like how could anyone forgive sexual assault that extreme??? it felt like i was transported back to killing stalking 2021!! and then the mc was so against mafia but now that his dad is mafia he’s just complacent and welcomes it all as part of his life now?? and ml started off trying to be romantic which was out of character for him and then he had a touching moment where he was learning to interact with kids and stuff and then he turned into every other abusive an sexual assaulting ml i was so excited for something unique. SLOP SLOP SLOP i’m pissed :( and it started off so strong too. did something change? i saw that right around where the tl said that the writer was drifting away from the og source material was where the story went to shit. is that what happened?
i think you should've researched more before reading it. I didn’t mean to undermine your distastefulness upon reading this but Roses and Champagne is widely known for its SA chapters. (the popular big three R&C, passion, codename anastasia all contains SA)
and the manhwa creator definitely didn’t show a lot of feelings development but more to show how complex human feelings are
i completely agree. they were building up his character as someone who would get better over time and then they completely dropped the ball. no manhwas need to stop relying on rape as a cheap and easy trick and actually do good writing . only reason this was bearable was bc of jiwon and the art style
