Spacing in this manga is a bit off.. Manga started well and even the scary part made sense but the Mitsu's turn around after the scary part (ch.5) to that far was real spacing issue. Too much like harlequine-ish type of thing - ruining pretty much character's personality.. It went way too far.
Am I only one who felt that this was kinda making fun of some yaoi/romace cliches while being it's own thing? There wasn't much time for anything anyway so why not go that way.. I weirdly liked it.
I was afraid that these would be just mindless yaoi sex stories - like many of short yaoi stories are. But I'm glad to notice that in between there was so many good and really interesting characters and storylines.. Way better ones than in many longer running mangas.
Story about the trees especially was really unique way of telling it.

That's Finnish name! Means Sea breeze. I wonder.. Was it meant to be so or just accident? Kind of like Kieli novels (and manga). Kieli means tongue or language in Finnish but I get it how it end up as a name.. It does sound beautiful.
I'd say its on purpose, names in manga and books usually are. Just like you said, they carry meaning and the authors chose them specifically. Sometimes its illustrative of the character's personality, sometimes its like flavor text - it adds interest and color to the stories, and sometimes its as a tribute to someone in their lives.

Maybe a bit too much. I start to forget the main plot because it's moving slower than dead beat zombie trying to dig his way up from the grave.. Without hands. What is kinda really sad.
I so knew it right away what was that guys deal in chapter 3.. Like instantly. It just came to me. This manga gets you in the vibe so well.. And I love how much expression is in the art without it going overboard.
I haven't finish yet thou.. I'm suppose to go to sleep but I think I sense that I'm going to pull all nighter for a manga... again. My life is in ruins.
I want to read this to end but when Rikka changed.. I can't keep straight face at all. She looks so silly. Especially helmet thingy and I just can't take it seriously. Heh. xD

Omfg thats sooo true. The helmet is absolutly ridiculous and silly hahahahah XD But hey, the fan-service and amaaazing art DO make up for all of it
.. Damn it can't decide who is the main character. But still.. It's rare to read manga what has jumping plot line and you can still follow well who is who, and what timeline we're in.
I'm pretty sure most of the character will going to die at the end.. I want to know if I'm right.

This is so unfair! How come they share the misfortunes when Ikumi really doesn't get hurt? Even when Chihaya gets hurt - Ikumi doesn't get those wounds.. One fucking unbalanced sharing of misfortunes and it makes me pissed. They don't share shit.. Chihaya has to carry all of them.
I think its cus his ancestor took it upon himself to carry the hurting part cause byakuya or whatever was a beautiful priestess blah blah and the priest dude gets hurt emotionally when his lover carries the pain of his own injuries... it could break him into suicide when they both would die... idk that's how i see it cause black hair dude blames/can'tforgive himself for Chihaya getting hurt always
I'd rather be in Chihaya' position. It's true that Ikumi doesn't get any wounds, but in turn those wounds are transferred to his loved one. That's even more painful than getting those wounds himself. So no, it's not unfair.
Plus, there are characters who think like you and look at Ikumi with disdain even though this whole misfortune business isn't his fault.
I just realised.. Has this manga really being draging on since 2001? 16 years. I guess that beats Dragon Ball Z series.. And maybe even Naruto and Bleach?
Naruto ran from 1999-2014, 15 years.
There are only six issues a year - 74/6=12.3 (plus the occasional hiatus and time off taken to redraw for the tankoubons) And 2001 is wrong - supposed to be 2002 I think. So 15 years.
It is entertaining us from the last 15 yrs that is very diffiucult to do for a long time for anyone, so we still love it more than DB and N and B :D

And One Piece for 20 years, but I love this series.

I think sensei intention is to end viewfinder series at vol 5 but because of popular demand she decided to answer the fans and continue the series. I mean, there is a huge gap between vol 5 and vol 6.
I think I read somewhere that in the beginning Sensei didn't intend to make viewfinder a series but a collection of one shot between photographer x yakuza. Just look at vol 1.
I guess changing one shot to a series and continuing an ended series is one of the many reason its dragging since she needs to think of the plot.
I do wish she created an alternate start when they decided to OK a serialisation...Kind of hate the first chapter to be honest and it didn't help with the whole Stockholm syndrome debate and it set their relationship up in such a weird way.
I see your point, but I think though in many ways after vol 5 it started to get more interesting, I like the dynamics of them living together and interacting more. Before it was just sex, sex, sex, which is cool! - But I like a bit off fluff and domesticity too ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
