Ex-husband is the peak example of the saying "you can't have your cake, and eat it too". Bro wanted both ways to work.

I've gotta say though, this is one of the rarest instance I've seen where the antagonists are not actually just flat-out shallow villains. I mean I completely acknowledge their wrong doings, but I can see that Sovieshu and Rashta have genuine consciences, compassion, and sympathy at times.

Low-key makes this revenge more meaningful because it's slightly more complicated than just punishing bad guys. It's actually harder to carry it out since you want to get revenge on them, but at the same time, can't fully bring yourself to hurt them directly, because again, it's complicated. They even have such sincerely pitiful backstories.

Idk, it sometimes weighs in my conscience as the viewer whenever I think of what that crazy Rashta went through as a slave child then being impregnated by her master then abandoned and having to hold her cold dead child in her hands, and being blackmailed and haunted by them when she tries to leave it in the past.

I think about that, and I feel pity for her. But knowing she could've already had her Cinderella fairy tale ending when she married the Emperor but then kept repeatedly choosing to use harsh and cruel methods on other people even after being coddled and given what she wants, earns her the appropriate backlashes she's getting now.

Same with the ex-husband, I can see he genuinely loves his baby and would even make his daughter the first empress that inherits the throne with no discrimination between sons or daughters, and he didn't even mind the mistress having already a son outside. But he can't expect to keep FL after doing what he did to her, if he truly deeply cared about her, he would have prioritized her feelings. He could have possibly even gotten FL's infertility cured with magic during their marriage if he fessed up about those cookies instead of hiding his mother's scheme. But nopp, he only listened to himself and did only what he thought was for the best.

So yeah. The antagonists are getting what they deserve but it's not the easiest revenge to see unfold as the viewers. Satisfying but also complicated.

I had no expectations and I was still disappointed.

Like, I mean it. I'm down for some dark degenerate gruesome weird story with irredeemable characters. But, hmmm, there's a million loose ends with the story that ended up going nowhere. It seems like it ended abruptly too, like it just jumped to the end. I guess maybe the story wasn't really even seriously thought out. Just the concept of it was made but the story was just something they had to do in order to get the concept out.

Anyway whatever, weird is weird. Admittedly, I guess I was slightly expectant of some great big twist or revelation at some point.

They are most definitely in a romantic relationship now. Vol.6 Ch.66 insinuating that they have skin to skin contact for warmth under the sheets, you know what that means

and Vol.6 Ch.67 when he kissed her as she cried at Pg.15 ( T＿T)

Oh is that the sh*tty father's backstory?? Sorry the guy and girl both look too much like ML and FL so I got confused for a couple of seconds reading, then realized they had different names.

So the edgy depressed dude is ML's dad, girly is probs FL's mom, and fat boi is probably FL's dad. I'm going to guess that they were all best friends in highschool--

--that is until FL's mom and dad started dating, ruining their friendship trio. (But only in ML's dad perspective since the couple still regarded him as a good friend when FL was already a young adult).

ML's dad started feeling abandoned and betrayed by them (or maybe not just from the friendship he lost, maybe he fell for FL's mom but couldn't have her). And so goes his deep-rooted grudge against them and hatches his devious plans to ruin the both of them in the future.

For everyone who's blindly complaining "why doesn't she tell him!?" "Why doesn't she transform into a bird in front of him??" "This would be so much easier and avoid misunderstanding if she revealed that she's the bird"...

If she revealed that she's the divine bird sent from heaven and she's found out to be an angel, she can't be with ML. Read people, pls. I read a horrible comment in another platform that was cursing FL saying she's stupid for not telling ML, and they said they hope ML f*cks the blue haired angel just to teach FL a lesson?!???? Disgusting comment.
