When Ain was a child his whole family was slaughtered, and he was raped and tortured by Michel’s father. After the people from the South leave, Ain starts to plot his revenge against them and his tool will be Michel himself. He will basically make him live in a living hell, but Michel too in love at this point with him, will tolerate everything and suffer like a dog for how long we don’t know (but it will sure drag out quite a lot). Ain in the end will truly fall in love with Michel, but this won’t stop him from achieving his ultimate revenge. They still have a happy ending but it will be one heck of a ride (suffering and trauma) before we get there. Ì honestly started to read this expecting a romantic story, but turns out it will be a much bloodier and twisted story.

Yea he’s pretty much brought into something he has zero power over, like he didn’t know his father past and it’s not like he treated Ain badly to justify extending the revenge on him. It just feels pointless, like go kill Michel father or something, instead he becomes the same as the people who hurt him in the past: a person that hurts innocent people. Like I can understand he doesn’t come from a really mentally sound place, and he must be envious of the Michele that grew sheltered from the violence and obscenity…but bro Ain could have been so much better as a character in my head

This was genuinely one of the best things I read in a while, so good, I adore them all (Sunny is such a cutie patootie) I’m so happy I found it
I started the story while being really biased on who I preferred (Jo), Tj was never in my eyes the “good” choice for Ian, I just considered him a thug and an asshole. And while what I thought before didn’t really change I pity him for what he admitted, he can’t leave the organisation nor change for Ian because being a Gangster is so much of him that without it his whole persona/identity would cease to exist and I really like this explanation for his character! It’s sad that he expects Ian to keep sacrificing himself for him to achieve HIS dream and I understand why even though Ian loves him he knows deep down that Tj will never chose over the organisation, and now I hope he will start to get to know Jo more than just a replacement for Tj .
I’m grasping for air, kicking my feet, the angst is so good i can’t wait for the next chapters

I bet my pants that the elder perform rituals in exchange of a high price and our ML is the sponge for the bad karma they create by making those rituals. He could also be the missing Demi-wyrm or some kind of vessel for the god. Also I’m so curious if the MC is only like a blessed human with pure spirit or if he’s also spiritually linked to something we don’t know.
