How come this manga doesn't have an official English translation when it's so popular?
The fan translation is amazing, I'm not complaining..just curious.
There’s a digital one only, and yeah it was on futekiya. You can still read on manga planet I think? ‘A short and long love story’ by this author is getting an official translation later this year, which makes me think BSC might be in ‘translation jail’ somehow because of the digital translations (which happened to twittering birds’ I believe, which eventually got a re-release in print. The fact one of her other serialisations is getting a print version might mean they’re testing the water, so I recommend buying that one to show your support for this mangaka, and hopefully they’ll release this one!
Futekiya got folded into mangaplanet which also died, site redirects to twitter now sadly. Futekiya/MP is only doing physical releases now, but unsure if Blue Sky Complex will be one of them. They might still have the license? They haven't done any long series in print yet, maybe testing the waters with Beast Storm which is currently up for preorder.
Iirc, Twittering Birds (and other stuff that publisher got) is in limbo bc DMP (which June manga was part of) got suspended for not paying taxes, had a bit of a return, and then kinda...vanished again. DMP also had a lot of kickstarter messes too...
I like this author's drawing style. Thanks so much for translating, you did a very good job
