Do I blame the friend for not wanting to be friends, NO. At the end of the day it’s what is best for him. Constantly having to look after someone who can’t and won’t help themselves is like walking in a circle.( especially getting beat up for them)I’m all for it ending. Hopefully the protagonist stops having to have people defend him and do it himself. Maybe take martial arts classes. I liked him at first but now he seems like a burden. They might just stay friends in the end though.
