I really don't understand why so many comments are against the girl. I understand what she said was wrong however she understands that as well, she even acknowledged she was in the wrong for what she said to the ml and she has apologized before when she made an insensitive comment without knowing the full situation. She even respected the ml boundaries towards being touched and never pushed it on him. In the chapter during the breakup she even said it wasn't his fault and it's all her problem how she's thinking, it was after victim blaming but in that moment she literally understood she was in the wrong and tried to relay that so he knew he wasn't the problem. She is generally a nice girl plus she's young so getting the exact right thing to say in that kinda situation isn't something to expect especially when she wasn't even taught how to handle it by anyone. Handling the experiences of rape victims isn't easy nor is it something anyone can do. Many of y'all are ignoring that this girl needs therapy as well, being that scared of any sexual act really isn't normal and is probably a psychological problem. Like even not being taught about sex doesn't have you responding with an actual fear like state that is a down psychological issue. Then it's not like she only thought the ml was filthy she just stated she considers her parents filthy as well. Y'all are really out here tryna make it look like shes just victim blaming when she's not. Then some of y'all are saying apologize like that would do any good, both of them have a shitty experience from that breakup and apologizing now would only be worse for both them. She should apologize but they both need time apart from each other. Not liking her is fine but to put all blame on her and saying she's a terrible person isn't right.
Not to mention the blond hair girl brought it up for her to talk to the ml about his rape experience. During a time when it clearly wasn't the right moment nor her business. The ml knew she was misunderstanding what he meant by sexual trauma before and let her continue to misunderstand I generally think they both needed more time before talking about it. She has no business getting mad at her when she pushed this to happen. No hate to her but I don't think she should've involved herself, she wasn't even friends with the dude they just went to the same school. I whole heartily believe they still would've broken up but not in such a hard way if she stayed out of it and let them eventually come to it themselves.
sure she’s feels guilty for what she said to him now but she knew what she said was wrong before that and she knew that he didn’t want to be raped and still said things like “he could’ve fought her off” because she’s a woman and he’s a dude but she still told him what she thought of him when she asked to break up. i really don’t care if she is a nice girl and she just wasn’t ready for that information because she had no reason to say that to a victim, i see your point but i just can’t look past that
