Guys, what are your theories about the flowers ? I hear no one talking about them, and I’m curious about what you all think.

Baby Shuraka bloomed a bouquet of pear blossoms for Tei twice because he thought they resembled him. The first time was the night after they met, and the second time was for the wedding bouquet for Tei to hold. He described the flowers as fair and white, just like Tei. I think he was referring to his skin complexion.

But then, Adult Shuraka only bloomed red roses in the palace garden of Arnata for Tei.

As a reminder, when Tei visited this garden for the first time (14 years ago), he described it as being full of different varieties of flowers in many colors. However, red and pink roses seemed to be the most dominant ones by far, from what I saw (when Tei met Shuraka's older brother, the one with long and curly grey hair).

It might also be important to mention that when Shuraka and Tei visited that "Sand over Sea" place (sorry, I forgot the name) with the silver dolphins and the gems, he gifted Tei a red gem he found, which he described as red and beautiful, just like Tei’s eyes.

Could it be that Shuraka’s attention shifted from Tei’s skin to his eyes over those 12 years because it’s a more unique feature that he only saw in Tei ? So it felt less lonely to surround himself with an abundance of red roses, since they represent only Tei ?

Or is it because Shuraka’s feelings, which started as an innocent appreciation of beauty and a pure kind of love when he was a child, transformed over time into a more yearning and passionate love ? Maybe Tei’s physique began to evoke sexual desire rather than just a pure admiration of beauty without impure thoughts. In that sense, the pear blossoms were more fitting for Tei at the beginning because they symbolise purity, while red roses which symbolise deep love, passion, and desire, describe him better now that Shuraka is an adult (with the eye of natam, which makes him hornier), and looks at Tei the way a husband looks at his wife.

Or is it because, after Shuraka met Pinky, seeing that the pear blossoms resemble Pinky more than Tei (in my opinion, it does), so he abandoned that flower for something else ? If he can’t choose a flower that represents Tei’s skin because it would also resemble Pinky’s (since their complexions are similar), and many other concubines from what I saw, then he might choose a flower that represents Tei’s eyes instead. From what I remember, Shuraka has only ever commented on Tei’s body in terms of his skin and then his eyes, so it kind of makes sense.
