Except then we move on to wow! fl is sooo smart and introducing modern era concepts to us. Maybe I’m just a hater of this trope, but I think they just went overbearing with it. Sudden genre shift. lowkey, as someone who grew up in a similar house, their distance feels so realistic and was done well. when there's no parental figure (or a guide) looking out for you both, self-preservation just kicks in that you have to save yourself first. not out of malice, but pure instinct. you still care, just surviving. im just glad they're finally trying to make up AND get out of that place.
