She had brain damage after her fall, and ran into traffic after Aaron and died thinking he was her son instead of Yujin. Yujin was there for his mom’s fall and her death, and blames himself for not catching her or stopping her from running into the street. Yujin’s father also blames him, and threatens to tell people like Aaron about the “horrible things he’s done”. So he’s trying to keep Aaron safe but also heavily blames himself for both his mother’s death and Aaron almost dying at his father’s hand.
