This was so good. It was a bit frustrating at first but the payoff was so worth it.

Haekyeong growing a spiny spine and becoming more confident was nice to see compared to who he was in the beginning: depressed and so cautious.

I don’t know if I could call Kwonrim a Green Flag ML. He has a lot of obsessive and possessive thoughts but he hold Haekyeong’s happiness above everything else so he’s more of a Mint Flag ML to me. But man, I was rooting for him in the beginning to snatch Haekyeong away. I wish we had more of the family dynamics between Kwonrim, Kwonyeong and their parents since the brother’s relationship was in complete shambles.

I also wonder if there will be a sequel novel with Kwonyeong as the MC now he lost all of his money paying to cover up the scandal he created because he sexually assaulted Haekyeong. I don’t think he’s that far gone as it would be interesting if he realizes that his insecurities cost him his longest friendship, a relationship with his brother and his riches.

And the man he slept with is Hardy as Lionel Parco.

That said, I’m glad we got the explanation why someone like Oscar would allow Abel to do the shit he has been doing even though it’s still fucked up of Oscar for being an accomplice to it.

I’m surprised people are mad at Abel’s father for the infidelity when the marriage was arranged and unwanted in the first place. However, Abel’s father is still an evil asshole for taking out his frustrations on Abel who was an innocent party in all of this and I still believe the former Duke Hysterion did something to Abel’s mother to prevent her from taking Abel with her. I don’t think she just abandoned Abel, especially she wanted to come back and get Abel.

Also, people shouldn’t forget that Hardy is fucked up in the head as well and would probably forgive Abel for essentially bitching him against his consent.

I know people wanted to see their first bang after they confessed their feelings to one another, the proposal, or Jaekyung suffering more but I feel that focusing on Grandma’s funeral was the better way to end it considering she basically was the impetus of this story. And seeing her being happily affectionate towards Dan and Jaekyung and her being able to pass peacefully knowing Dan won’t be alone in the world actually makes me teary. I’m glad it didn’t drag on because we seen Dan’s journey to come to terms with his grandma’s quickly approaching death several times in the story. Also, knowing Dan was trying to prepare for the moment and see that he cried his eyes out at the funeral was heartbreaking.

It was not the best and not the worst. It entertained me for the last 3 1/2 years and that’s all I can ask for.

Hoping Heesung and Potato’s extras arc is next.

When the actual text tells you that he’s very aware of how Seungwon is and how he’s not right in the head either. Like Junseong, who was trying to help escape, called him crazy for choosing to be an attic wife essentially. Like the only reason we don’t get to see Seongyul being twisted was because he thought that he had no shot. Now, he’s going to never let Seungwon go now.

Also, I think Licht wasn’t a yandere in the original timeline. I feel he did something to cause the regression and that and the trauma of losing Lucas forever and whatever he did set off his yandere trigger.

But I do think Licht was obsessed with Lucas in the original timeline though. Probably did everything to make sure everything went smoothly for Lucas while carrying a flame for him, despite knowing that Lucas seems to have feelings for him, Lucas was promised to someone else so Licht chose loyalty and duty over his feelings. Regressing back to life shifted his priorities as he most likely believes loyalty and duty were all lies and there is nothing more important than Lucas to him now and Lucas trying to push him away finally got the mask to fall off and finally cross the line and make Lucas his.

Honestly I hope it will be more than two volumes because the political intrigue and Yandere!ML won me over. And I hope that their first time is consensual because Licht successfully seduced Lucas and Lucas finally surrending to his desire would be hot. ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

But that a very under-negotiated play went terribly wrong. I mean, from the beginning, this relationship was all kinds of fucked up. Kakeru blackmails Koki in a coercive relationship where Koki can not consent even if Koki has a degradation kink. Kakeru is a terrible dom who never teaches Koki actual BDSM which is centered around consent, communication and negotiation. So Kakeru leaving a vulnerable Koki alone with a predator who was not involved in their ‘play’ and nearly got Koki raped shouldn’t been shocking. And Koki will never stand up to Kakeru because he has a lot of pride in himself and shame around his kinks.

One thing I did like about this title thought that it acknowledges that neither Kakeru or Koki are suitable for a romantic relationship. Like yeah, it’s clear they have feelings for the other but calling each other accomplices because their career would be ruined if they get busted and them not really being more than FWB is a better description of their relationship than lovers.

Makoto is a textbook example of a domestic violence victim. Yes, it can take a few extreme acts of abuse for the victim to finally realize that they are not the problem. Makoto had to be raped again by Ryohei with Ryohei flat out saying that he doesn’t see Makoto more than an exclusive living pocket pussy for Makoto to finally get that Ryohei meant what he said and that he didn’t say it out of anger.

And unfortunately a lot of DV survivors do seek a conversation to end their relationship, not knowing the most dangerous time in a DV relationship is when you leave or left the relationship.

As for Yuki, I wouldn’t be surprised that he was a Mr. Steal Your Girl/Homewrecker type of scum who dumps his conquests once the shine of the conquest loses its shine and gets tired of the girl. Probably had targeted girls in shitty relationships as well. It explains how Ryohei automatically started to get suspicious towards Yuki even though Yuki allegedly never messed around with a guy before Makoto because it would be Yuki’s MO. And that’s why Ryohei believes that Yuki will toss away Makoto once Yuki had his fill. I think Yuki’s feelings for Makoto are genuine on how we see that he always felt envious and regretful that Ryohei got to Makoto first so it’s likely Yuki fell for Makoto at first sight when Ryohei introduced Makoto to his friend group or Yuki saw Makoto just before he found out that he was Ryohei’s new ‘boyfriend’.

It’s easily to understand Hardy once you realize that he is led by his trauma almost as much as Able is. Being engaged to three women whom you were willing to marry, then all of them wanted to break off the engagement because they ultimately didn’t chose you is a major impact on your self esteem. And we also see that Hardy’s kindness is also a fault because he lost his position as noble born because he broke off the engagements and took the fall so his former fiancées can live the happy life they wanted. So yeah, he’s going to stick it out with Able because Able was the one person who CHOSE him. Hardy LIKES some aspects of Able’s possessiveness because he sees it as someone who wants him badly and will never go.
