It is a really good story that I highly recommend. MC is forcibly summoned to a dungeon world where he’s assigned a support class. After accidentally surviving a trap, he ends up separated from his group, forced to survive on his own with the rabbit guide's insults for company.
As he struggles, he actually ends up finding creative ways to improve his living conditions and is able to help other humans he encounters. Unfortunately, since he was registered as dead after falling in the trap, his existence becomes a bug, so he can't follow the same gates as other players.
But thanks to that, he is able to do things that they can't, and ultimately finds the secret lore of the world to rescue all the humans and send them back to Earth.
It is a pretty chill story. with some action and comedy, as MC proceeds with conquering dungeons in his own way. making positive changes and shocking all the dungeon residents haha. No romance, no harem.
It’s always near the end where I decide to take a break to let the story finish, and one year later realize that I never finished it lol. Spoilers below!
I don’t know what I was expecting for the ending, but it was well executed! Even though it’s open, it’s in a good way because even though the goal was to return back to Earth, I was wondering if MC and the other survivors were really going to return to living normal lives after all they’ve been through.
So I was really surprised to see that Earth also needed saving from an apocalypse lol. Luckily there are battle trained warriors/awakeners to save it!
I do feel bad that the people who died in the Dungeon Game might die again on Earth because they lost their memories and skills, but it is a second chance for them and maybe they’ll survive with safety in numbers!
As for the harem allegations, it’s a bit of a stretch to say that the new appearances ruined the ending. I agree that they were completely unnecessary, but it is the end and maybe the team was having fun by doing a bit of fan service since there aren’t many girls.
While it is nice that they got power ups, since all their powers originated from Ethera fusing with the book of life, so they took on her original human appearance, I still want to see genderbent versions of them… or at least for Bahamut… TTwTT
TLDR: Two love-traumatized men meet each other in a specific fetish space and help each other move on from the past.
Honestly mid story but ok read. The plot was all over the place, and I’m sad to see that we don’t get to see Haru become a functional adult after quitting work. At least give us a bonus chapter of him doing well-!
As for the commenter who wanted Haru to continue his job… did you gloss over the part where he was attacked by a customer?
It was a shady business with little security, cheaply structured privacy enclosures (except for the karaoke and showroom) that it was based on trust that the customer wouldn’t harm the worker, even as the most popular?
His time was already pretty limited in his 20’s when cosplaying as a HS boy, but the only way I could see this happening is if he wanted to work for money (and not just as a coping mechanism) or he was attention-seeking and really wanted to be loved by multiple people as implied in the beginning, so he could’ve gone into being a cam boy or broadcaster.
Wasn’t there a Dwarf in the past that taught a dragon how to craft? Unless because that was 500-ish years ago, so the Dragons got lazy and ignored the Dragon king, or it’s an ancestral grudge.

I’ve actually started reading this before SL, so now I’m surprised at the high rating despite the shit ending. To be fair, it was okay at the beginning: typical poor struggling MC who hates the rich, gets into an electrical accident that changes his life forever, since it somehow changed his biometric code and he’s no longer able to access his account for a wildly popular game. Being forced to start over, this time he’s able to see hidden parts of the game, and eventually becomes the first and only player to beat and win the game.
I took a break when MC was about halfway to building his army to let the story marinate, but that feels like a mistake since the format is better consumed in weekly updates. Binging it all at once makes it obvious that there’s a 1-2-3 step pattern that repeats over and over again. MC gets a quest, villains try to wreak him, he outmaneuvers them, gains a new item/ability/minion to show off, and repeat.
The villains are so annoyingly dumb and pointless.They’re like Jessie and James, but if they were in charge of Team Rocket and less iconic. I understand the motive, but they’re so painfully pathetic that it feels like they’re unnecessary annoying extras who get additional screen time because the author likes them for some dumb reason. Maybe they’re just there to make MC shine, but seeing MC win every time only makes me think that he’s a Gary Stu.
Which he probably is to be honest, except that he doesn’t get a girl or a harem haha. Maybe that’s the cost of his power and success, to be forever alone! Until the very end, no one knew that he was the Archmage Streamer except for that one girl who was FL bait, but she was from a hostile guild so… UNLESS his true love is his boss who he finally gets to meet at the end hahaha (but also why does he go from bleached blonde to sandy blond?)
Anyways, the open ending was pretty lame. After he beat the game, he became the new owner but it just ends there. We don’t get to see what happens after that. The game developer has said that the point of the game was to have fun, which MC technically did have thanks to his cheats, but idk what kind of story he was supposedly trying to tell.
It would’ve been a better ending to see MC finally move his family to a nice home and give them the nice things he’s envisioned ever since he got his hands on expensive items since that was supposed to be his goal from the beginning. I guess we can assume that now he’s the owner of the game, with Rising Star and Azmo’s support he could create new content and earn a better income?
I’m always excited to see a new character, but idk if my heart can take another Jabilon 2.0
If you’re not a true gamer or able to toss gaming logic aside, this is a decent read. The most recent season did feel a bit rushed though, and the extra scenes was giving me “The Promised Neverland” season 2 ending vibes, because they didn’t do that when ending the previous seasons… unless it’s supposed to be a hype distraction from the romance development.
Speaking of, as much as I like side romances, I kinda have to agree with the below comment. It’s so messy. During my first read, I honestly wasn’t expecting that from redhead and thought of her as comedy relief.
But then it turned out that there’s a serious reason why she gets so much screen time. It sucks because Shin Nara was my pick, and she was sidelined for a rich girl who was carried by her sister.
All jokes aside, and to be fair, she did help out MC the most, especially in the latest season for MC to get closer to raising funds for his surgery while Shin Nara was the one being helped, so it makes sense that MC appreciates and acknowledges her efforts, but still.
She’s so well-known that poor Shin Nara had to find out why she was ditched on tv. Not to mention that she’s kind of love rivals with her sister, although she is a minor so technically there’s no chance.
But the main irk I have is because of the irl meetup. In game, there’s probably an automatic translation function so all players are able to communicate, but outside of it? Either MC knows Chinese, or redhead knows Korean, or it’s another bs setting that Korean is the universal language lmfao
I’m another reader who has a hard time getting into the story, but seeing the recent positive comments makes me wonder… maybe if I get bored and patient enough I’ll try again and try to write a how-to-read-this guide lol
Another story that I happened to take a break from that ended without me noticing (I was literally at the beginning of the magic school arc-!) that I’m not sure if I’m sad or glad that I wasn’t there when it ended.

At least there is a completed novel, so I’m definitely going to check that out and see the true ending. Plot twist, imagine if they ended like this on purpose so people would search for the novel for more engagement? That’d be so evil…
Like what were they thinking, ending it here when there’s still 40-ish chapters left in the novel? They basically speedran the preparations and only left confusion. At that point they may as well not even bothered with coloring the last panel… hahaha…
