Happy yaoimas every body
I will tell you the obvious since you asked. It’s mostly a matter of social awareness. Holiday greetings carry cultural and religious meaning, and what feels funny to one person can feel disrespectful to another. While I understand the joke, it doesn’t fit the context. If you don’t care about the meaning behind Christmas and just want to be punny, then the greeting can come off as frivolous or distasteful. Sometimes keeping it simple is the more respectful choice.
Red herring are pointless: the issue raised is not what kind of site it is, but what kind of celebration it is. I clearly explained why it was not suited. Since you do not care about what Christmas is about or whether your pun is dismissive of cultural or religious values, I do not get why you even bothered partaking in the merry postings. It feels very frivolous.
Anyway. I said what needed to be said. I wish you fond holidays.
