i think the drama is based on the novel(?) and the manhwa is also based on the novel but i’m not sure at all…ANYWAYS BIGGGGGG SPOILERS BELOW. (i’m gonna try my best to explain the plot cus it got crazy in the last 2 episodes)

the drama plays like the manhwa so far but we get to know the ending. So basically we come to find out that the mysterious guy that wrote the original novel is like some sort of grim reaper(?) and he actually teleported Myungha into the novel so he can find his happines. Bc Yeowon’s happiness is Myungha’s happiness, ie finding Yeowon friends is also making him make friends. This is all bc in his og life Myungha actually offed himself due to feeling dejected and alone in the world but moments before he actually died, he came to regret his decision and blah blah blah that’s how we came to the main storyline. The whole objective was for him to learn how to love someone and be happy with them and he found that with Yeowon. They get a happy ending together but it was a COMPLETE emotional coaster in the last couple of episodes!! This summary really doesn’t do it justice,,,, it had me shtting crying begging confused and praying all at the same time. It’s actually so sad and i have this big empty hole and my heart now i wish we had more episodes but sadly it only have 8,,,

The ending really is bittersweet. It's such a strong story in how it challenges our ideas of happiness. That was the central message that was driven home by the last episode: salvation and victory are in happiness. It's important to want happiness for others, but also to believe that you deserve it.
The show was a masterful philosophical exercise. Not just in confronting the fleetingness of life and mortality, but in offering an alternative option that goes against what most of us, in our fear of death, see as impossible. You can be dead and happy. You can regret your life and come to terms with it. You can find contentment in the afterlife, or at least believe you will.
It kind of reminded me of that Black Mirror (TV show not manhwa) episode that featured a lesbian romance. Who are we to deny that their happiness is real, even if they're experiencing it in a simulated world where their consciousness gets uploaded after death? Who gets to define happiness and fulfillment?
What a great show. I didn't expect the depth that it had and was so moved by it.

yoooo what the flip. other person says it ends bittersweet? what makes it bittersweet? did he end up leaving both of the worlds for good or smth? cause it would feel weird for him just to stay in the novel you know? i guess i understand this since there was always so many foreshadows with MC referring to his past self. real mvp is the friend who made this novel and is actually the grim reaper or wtv
WHOLE CHAPTER HAD ME SCREAMJNG AND HOLDING ON FOR MY LIFE
