I recently came across a YA book synopsis that seemed undeniably similar to the manga Seven Days by Tachibana Venio and Takarai Rihito. The book is called Date me, Bryson Keller and part of the synopsis goes as followed: "Everyone knows about the dare: Each week, Bryson Keller must date someone new--the first person to ask him out on Monday morning. Few think Bryson can do it. He may be the king of Fairvale Academy, but he's never dated before. Until a boy asks him out, and everything changes.
Kai Sheridan didn't expect Bryson to say yes. So when Bryson agrees to secretly go out with him, Kai is thrown for a loop. But as the days go by, he discovers there's more to Bryson beneath the surface, and dating him begins to feel less than an act and more like the real thing"
What are y'alls thoughts on this? Has anyone actually read the book? I just wanted to get some insight on other people's opinion considering that Seven Days is so dear to me and I wanted to know if I was overeacting in thinking of it as a rip off? I even feel bad calling it a ripoff given that I haven't even read the book. I just feel so conflicted, but I'm willing to give the author the benefit of the doubt and give this book a shot.

I haven't read the book but I have read seven days. And looking at the synopsis you provided, I would say it is a rip off for it has the same base concept as the manga. On the other hand, you don't know until you read it and if yout feel it's eerily similar, just drop the book and pick another one.

Definitely a rip off. Wonder if you can report it somewhere? Plagiarism is fucked
