Well its hard for Mc to think Ml was seroius, because Ml has joked about a relationship in all the time they have know eacother (confessed and then gone "just kidding"). Yet Ml has also been a constant threat / compettitor to Mc, sabotaging Mc's atempt to become chairman.
Mc is the most skilled and best posible sucsessor for the chairman posittion, but becaus he is an Omega he has had to work 3x harder for it. And then it turned out for him to get it..he has to "birth" an heir...and the dad wanted Ml to be the father = defacto making Ml chairman .. becaus hes an Alpha.

Ml knowing all of this still has fought hard to become chairman just to date Mc, yet failed to see that the "if you become chairman il date you" was a spure of them moment when they were young.

They are equaly guilty for the misunderstandings.

Icel maybe at the beginning of the thing I would have said sure, they both have a role to play in the misunderstandings. But I think MC knows the Ml likes him but has been ignoring it, the same way he did with the secretary guy because of their “complicated situation.”

Which is fucked by the way. Even if they weren’t dating, the ML has been one of his only friends since freaking high school and the only guy he trusts to share his heat with. Said friend who believed that the MC just got violently assaulted which he was… and the first thing he says is “it’s none of your concern????” That’s fucked up, even if they weren’t in love.

If you turn it around on the flip side, the MC would be infuriated if the Ml just handed him the position. We have seen that he has this whole I much prove myself work ethic time and time again. If ML has simply let him win and stepped down, he would likely still be reacting the same way he is now.

And come on, the Ml knows practically everything about the MC but the MC claims he knows squat about the Ml and can’t even “recall their conversations.” Doesn’t that sound so fucking one sided?

How do you spend so long with someone, let that person know about your hopes and dreams and preferences and then never ever bother to even ask what that person likes or wants?

The way to look at it in Omegaverses is that in general rule of thumb.. Omegas have less rights because the society rule is "if there is an accidnet.. heat/ rut related, the fault lies with the Omega" Mc knows this and is super pissed that his right hand man who he trusted drugged him resulting in a fake heat.. But they are taught from a young age that an Omega in heat = responsible for what ever happend = it is not consider forced by law. Instead the fault lies with the Omega for getting drugged and triggerd.
This is why Mc brusshes it off, becaus that how their world works.

Its a shitty world filled with double standards, Mc follows this law where as Ml is more in line with IRL. This has caused Mc to be less emotional driven and more buisness / goal driven. Ml is emotinaly driven with a great family background, and all the benefits there are to being a high end Alpha (int and phys strength beyond others being some).

Yes it is shitty that Mc downplays it.. but thats the society they live in, Ml is pissed and sad because he cares for Mc.. and so this hurts him because he wants to be the only one for Mc thats on Mc's side and sees this a a masive betrayal for Mc's righthand guy.

But in the sercumstances the Righthand was considering drugging Mc, but backed out at the last minut leaving the drugged water he was planing to pour down the sink out, because Mc arives.
Mc Drank said water and went into heat. Mc chose to handle it because he deep down knows that Ml would have killed the guy, and didnt want Ml getting in trouble.

Ml has been sutch on fighting for the chairman position with Mc, yet at the same time thought Mc's fathers rule that Mc had to have a child to inherit it was fucked up.. yet is the first to jump at the chance to father said child.

Mc's goal in life is to take over as chairman and prove that an Omega they all looked down on and dismissed as a "baby maker factory" would be all those a-holes boss. Only for the criteria to be.. Make a baby.. a literal punch in the gut from the father = no mater now great you are and fitting for the role.. your primary role is to be a babymaker.

You can state how Mc should know Ml better and so forth.. But Ml claims to know Mc so much yet fails to see why standing in the way of Mc's goal and going and saying "il be your baby daddy" would cause Mc to belive Ml is gunning for the chairman position.. as being the "baby daddy" = becomming the son in law and if an Alpha = becomming the future head = chairman.

The world is sad but I also think it’s because the MC has always had an inferiority complex with the Ml.

Like all he wants is to be the head, dispute everything that an omega is, but I think most of it comes from the Mc hating his secondary gender and the way the Mc sees omegas in general.

One of the first things we learn about him is that he hates omegas because of that one scene with I think his father ? That he walked in on. He even says this that the last thing he wants to be is an omega because thag is all he sees omegas as.

It doesn’t matter if the Ml had outright confessed, which by the way we have seen him do several times from highshiol to adulthood, or that the Ml has never ever taken another omega or had a partner other than the Mc as far as we know. The MC himself hates omegas and sees them negatively.

“It’s just pheromones.” That’s what he tells himself and that’s the basis of him dismissing the Ml’s affection. Even when he noticed that the Ml’s secretary was an omega, his first reaction was assuming that the Ml was sleeping with said omega even though he had no evidence whatsoever .

Every time the Ml has tried to help the Mc since he discovered he was an omega, the Mc’s initial reaction is always to assume that the Ml was trying to have one up on him because he was an alpha.

He hates himself is what it all come down to and in a way, he never allows himself to be an omega because he is trying to separate himself hard from the image he has of them.

And about the secretary, the rapey one, it doesn’t fucking matter that he changed his mind last minute. The fact is that he would have, he made the plan, he brought the drug and he was already planning to give it to the MC. Whether or not he actually went through with it, the fact is that he was willing to.

That was why the omega secretary who had a crush on him lost all respect. He tried to rape the MC whether or not he acc did it, rape is as violating as it gets, whether or not the MC wants to dismiss it or not.
