They don't torture her. Dunno where you heard the spoilers but they believe she's the beloved little sister of their friend

i choose to believe it happened off screen, but i wish we had known for sure that she told him. but i guess it would be too similar to the scene where she tells violet, so maybe the author thought better to not be redundant, although i still would’ve liked to see it.
