I dropped this a while ago but I was curious on what the april fools chapter was like... It wasn't an aprils fools chapter-

Well you definitely have a free will but this story isn't bad entirely, yes at this point it is disappointing but wait until the real story begins.. It's just the starting and there isn't even much struggle shown yet.. You can drop it temporarily but tryst me it'll be good after about 10 chps
And the story rn is also bad because the emotions aren't portrayed well.. I Mena it's just following novel's story but is skipping most of the inner dialogues and both of there mental struggles.. It's simply shows only about 30% of the emotional depth of these scenes

I believe the king knows he isn’t really king-material. He lacks the strategic mind, the power, the connections, and the conviction to be a king. The only thing keeping him on the throne is his familial love to our ML. Though the ML’s mother too, but i believe that the mother is now nothing more than a hunting memory (of what kept him not give up as a prince in a stupid power-struggle and stupid father, obsessing over the concept of loving someone who loves his physical shell) than a relentless love.
I can’t word it properly… anyway, he’s staying because he’s a person that uses love as a reason to live, and right now his brotherly love is keeping him alive as a person. Being a king is but a means and a side quest
