Pookie... I thought u'd update every monday

Listen, like the story started off strong with a good story and amazing characters especially Seth, he's very complex I mean he did bad things and he deserves to take responsibilties for them, but I don't think se*ually abusing him and r*ping him is the right punishement.
I just feel like as the plot advance his character is being watered down to this poor helpless s*x doll getting thrown around and used, it's not even adding anything to the plot. Is it for shock value? I don't understand what the message behind this is.

i personally dont see it that way.

and let me just clarify this before i start, im in no way trying to justify r*pe or s*xual abuse, im just trying to give some context.

i think he gets r*ped three times or four throughout the 150+ chapters.
youre making it sound like he gets r*ped every other chapter to the point his character is watered down to a helpless s*x doll (your words)

now lets think about the situations, each time it was different and significant.

he went from being all mighty and powerful to utterly powerless to the point he is able to be dominated against his will (the ultimate punishment for a god, a feeling of true powerlessness)

the first time i believe was because of the cat/dream godess manipulation (damn i forgot), it illustrated to him that he really was so utterly powerless, even against the strength of a demi god.

another time he was literally f*cked by the very people, his own people that he f*cked over (the caravan followers i believe or at least people on the same line), i think it really showed the evil and consequences of his actions both to him and to us.

then you have the jesus looking god, and he well just isnt a good guy, he has no regard for others feelings, and his character serves as kind of a reflection of the old "evil" seth in a way imo.
and i dont think hes going to have a redemption arc or anything like that.

i feel like there was another time, but i forgot the details, its been a while.

as someone who took a class on Egyptian mythology, i honestly love this story.
seth is such an interesting character and i dont feel like the things he went through diluted his character, hes still that fierce personality, but hes more grounded now.
its a dark story, but its well written.

Lmao sorry my phone went crazy Idk if u can see the whole reply so I'll rewrite it.

So actually, the first time Seth was r*ped was by his own brother Osiris, I do respect your opinion and prespective on the story, but I still think that the r*pe is unessessary and it's ruining the story and characters, they could've made him get chased or fight till death lol (idk anything but SA).

It is a dark story yes and I don't have a weak stomach, but I still find those scenese meaningless and just for shock value.

    Anyways, glad u enjoy it.

on the point of Osiris, i dont remember if he actually r*pes him or just attempts to do so, but regardless i thought that part was pretty importance to the story.
Its a critical point for the early plot to establish the character relationships and dynamics between osiris, seth, isis and by extension nephthys. the emotional damage set the whole story into motion, much like how mythology goes.

and another thing...pretty wild, absurd and dark stuff happen in mythology, so maybe thats why all those scenes dont come off to me as meaningless sock value, they kind of fit in with it all.

i dont think this story is perfect, but i think it does a lot of things well. (and it doesnt romanticize r*pe which a lot of yaois do)

well sorry you dont enjoy this story, but its always interesting to see other perspectives

Osirius actually does rape him. He doesnt just attempt to do it and isis was a witness to it

yeah i wasnt 100% sure (i read this years ago) but it makes sense, its essentially the catalyst in the story.

Can someone pls recommend me a bl/gl with religion involved? And where it's plays a big role with the characters.
Doesn't matter if it's a real religion or made up.
Thank you ^^
