falling in love with a ‘bad guy’ who seems bad for u, but who is actually a good guy and saves u in dangerous situations. the said bad guy disappears when he thinks he will only harm u. in the moment of disappearance u find a ‘good guy’ who is just there. but it’s not the same. u go out of your way and put yourself in danger, knowing your ‘bad guy’ will find u in the said danger. the moment u reunite with the ‘bad guy’ all your feelings come back. u can say u love them both, u can even admit it to the ‘bad guy’ and ‘good guy’ both, but no love is the same and u always stay where u actually want to be.
ALL of this applies to both series. i genuinely don’t understand the outrage from jo stans, when all clues have been there from the beginning and were never hidden. all the roads led to tjyw. that is love, no matter how toxic u perceive the characters to be (which also relies in reading comprehension). it was a married couple who had a crisis of one wanting to continue his dangerous carrier and the other one wanting to live in the suburbs.
Taeju did better as a 'bad guy' anyway. He snatched all his pride just to ended up with someone that he loves. He admitted how he crazy about his man, he confess to love him forever, he still keep begging for his forgiveness even his man said it's all enough. Yet for the other one, he can't even do any shit for 20 years.
And it was wrong for us to rooting for a man that we think was treating mc better even in very short time?

omg. another one. “couldn’t do anything for 20 years.” u don’t even remember the characters’ names. it’s not taeju, it’s taejoon (tj), youngwoo (ian) and joseph (jo) - in case u forgot.
taejoon protected youngwoo, pulled him out from a rape house, put him into rehab, helped him with addiction, gained power for the sole purpose of protecting youngwoo. the only thing he ever wanted to see was yw’s smile. while being in a gang both of them lost themselves, tj lost himself to power, yw lost himself to his doubts and crumbling morals. this is where their conflict started.
tj has never physically hurt/raped youngwoo. when those guys broke yw’s leg - that wasn’t even what tj asked for. it was an accident (if ppl start to bring this up again). as we started with twilight paralles: edward never wanted bella to die, he didn’t know she would get pregnant and die at birth. does it mean edward and tj didn’t love bella and yw? no. they loved them more than anything. the world is not black and white. unfortunate and sometimes grave accidents happen.
jo stans like to glaze jo, while he behaves exactly like jacob from twilight. the seemingly good guy is actually a wolf in sheeps skins. sometimes violent, possessive, he projects his own thoughts on a person he absolutely doesn’t know. says “u are this an that” while the other one thinks “u don’t even know what i am.” bicurious jo gets so possessive at some point he commits sexual acts with an unconscious person. what a green flag.
and stop babying youngwoo. he is a grown man pushing 40, he knows what he wants, and it’s not jo.
SPEAK YOUR TRUTH!! just like love or hate, the mc choosing his "step brother" when the 2nd ml is better in terms of circumstances is really not crazy. love can be twisted to some and confusing to most. Ian choosing TJ even though he said he wanted to leave the past behind is just like that. Bcs in the first place, he never wanted TJ to remain in his past. The love they formed throughout those years is just so deep and cant be disregarded easily. They will keep coming back to each other
that’s right. it’s a story about healing and leaving the past behind, not the person. yw wanting to be with tj in his new life was obvious. the moment they met yw immediately folded and said let’s run away together, let’s start anew. yw was just waiting for tj to be ready to leave the gang.
crazy how people think only yw is supposed to and have the ability to “heal” and find a prince charming, while yw and tj grew up and became adults in the same environment.
Right? I love your take that it‘s a story about healing and leaving the past behind but not the person. Others read it like with one eye only. It was obvious that Ian can never leave tj. He just wanted both of them to leave the environment that eats them alive. Power and recognition eating tj and yw‘s destruction of his morals. So that‘s why they finally got to be together with no restraints when their plans aligned.
Though i hope doyak isnt tripping us and wont bring another twist next chap
