It makes sense that he’s avoidant, I think I would’ve liked to see that present itself a bit differently.

Instead of explaining the heart of why you’re avoidant “you don’t know what it’s like to feel rejected and not needed,” I feel like it’s more relatable to find excuses and rationalize the breakup without admitting it’s because you’ve been hurt before.

Not that what was represented in the manga was unrealistic, I just think the excuses are more common since it’s essentially a defense mechanism against vulnerability.

I think the point of that scene is that Yuji is shouting right in Kirato's face—"You don't know what it's like to be cast aside"—while simultaneously wanting to abandon Kirato just like that. He says, "You don't know what it's like to be hated," yet Yuji was harsh with Kirato before—behavior that made Kirato wonder if Yuji hated him or was upset with him. He says, "You don't know what it's like to be told you aren't needed," but Yuji did exactly that more than once—telling Kirato to leave him alone, or swatting his hand away when Kirato tried to wipe away his tears. Yuji is so consumed by his own pain and his distorted self-image that he fails to realize he is doing the very same thing to Kirato—and that Kirato *does* know exactly what that feels like; he was simply trying to be a source of stability for Yuji.

This had a good beginning but I can’t help but feel the author didn’t have a plan for the plot. Cause why establish this whole concept of two people cohabitating despite their different cultures and language barrier, only to forget about that completely and switch to a “he doesn’t know I’m the girl he fell in love with” plot that’s riddled with misunderstandings and lies. It went from a story about communication and understanding to literally the opposite. Just feels like the author didn’t know what to do with the characters they established.

Ngl…. First 2 chapters, he reminds me of freaky Nikki lowkey
Just suddenly in love with this random man and then in bed he’s like “sorry, I’m acting weird aren’t I”

Lots of haters on ML, gotta be honest I like the progression tho! It’s like that typical start dating cause of a misunderstanding, but then the person who initially didn’t want to falls in love deeper trope. I like that the uke is starting to feel insecure about the relationship upon self reflection cause I hope it leads the ML to start locking in and realize he hasn’t been the best partner.

If a guy ever did this to me I would literally never talk to him again tf u going on about, ur explanation why u lied is a story how u came to be obsessed with me to a creepy stalker degree… how is that meant to make things better

Wasn’t the mom there??? Like bro u got front row seats to his childhood. Only someone with zero reading comprehension would not be able to understand why someone who was rarely with other children would end up drawing away and using his imagination more

There is something so natural and likeable about the dialogue, even the short bits from the movie scenes feel nice
