I absolutely loved this story but unfortunately it was overflowing with attempted rape and I absolutely despised those parts and I didn't understand how Hiyo didn't even try to resist more or would blush when someone kissed her against her will instead of punching them or beating them up, that was the only part that wasn't clear to me. It wouldn't hurt for her to get pissed in those situations, no need to be so naiive and accepting all the time, be a little more careful. Otherwise it was great but those parts really made me cringe
I liked everything except the one with the brothel, I absolutely hate those kinds of things, makes me sick to my stomach. Buntarou is unable to save his kohai Takemura, who dies in an accident. He is painstakingly able to achieve his lifelong dream of summiting K2 solo, but he loses several fingers and toes as a result of his recklessness. Despite that, he survives, miraculously finding a fixed rope left behind by a prior summiting team, and is able to make it back to his family. The final chapter shows him smiling while thinking of Rokka and Hana, signalling his growth; he doesn't need to go back to mountains anymore, because he's found a place where he can belong.
