Exactly! Shiwon definitely loves Ian to even forgive him after he cheated on him twice (That's toxic in rl, tbh). And Shiwon also never insulted Ian by saying anything about "sleeping around different people" like Hyeon did. Shiwon was respectful of Ian's decisions. Meanwhile, Hyeon was really pushy and wanted his way. I found Hyeon to be really repulsive by the end of the story. He is young. But, still, it was a bit too low

If it keeps up, these artists are going to be angry as they are now, and disillusioned, and they will find something other than yaoi to express as their art. Never for one second giving any positive comments to Aeju herself that you respect her original script is like the worst kind of lack of respect,and the erosion is having an effect, and spreading among these artists. So keep up with the negative support - while you should be including and considering Aeju's right as an artist to express herself the way she wants, and not the way you've forced on her. Artists want to make their art with their ideas, not yours.

I mean this kindly: you love this character, I won't say anymore bad things about him. It's fine, but if you go out in RL and meet someone with the same behaviors, please please stay as far away as you can. Nothing against this character that you like at all. It's fiction. Just if you'll go back through the story and make a mental list, and if you encounter someone with any of those traits or behaviors, stay away. This could save your life or prevent you from serious mental harm. Again, you like the character and if I say don't like him all you do is get mad at me, so please just consider what I'm saying here. Yes, I understand. I really appreciate you informing me that. I like Shiwon but only as a character. I do know that people like Shiwon and Hyeon are all only perfect for a fictional world. I've read worse characters and I'm aware that the difference between fiction and rl is immense. Most of the characters in a book, especially in yaoi, are characters that are really toxic in rl and I know that. But, thank you for considering to tell me and caring about this. I'm glad we could end this on a good note ^^

okay, I can't keep still for this. In the original story, hondo does not sexually abuse Ian. Also, shiwon hasn't got a leg to stand on for doing anything but keep his mouth shut when Ian and Hondo get together. Shiwon is the bad guy for getting in between them and breaking them apart.
Shiwon laid in ambush in that parking lot waiting in case Ian got rejected so he could snarf up any left over scraps. Shiwon should not have been there, no way. He was stalking Ian. that's why he was there to pick up the pieces. Please recognize that.
You can't blame anything on Hondo. Ian acted like he couldn't stand Hondo. That Hondo decided to try it with someone else is .... shit why didn't he dump Ian sooner for the unloving way Ian acted?
You can like Shiwon all you want, but that character is a bad person. Aeju designed him to be the villain, and I'm sure she was very disconcerted when people actually liked him. That so many people don't get it is beyond strange. He does every bad thing in the story. You have no idea how troubling it is that so many young women would choose to like someone who is so obviously displaying every possible sign of being an abuser and a rapist.
If you in your private life get together with a man showing so many signs of being extremely, blatantly dangerous, you've got to take stock of your life and take responsibility for knowingly putting yourself in such obvious harm's way.
This character is not gentlemanly. He's obsessive and narcissistic. Don't for one minute interpret ANY of his actions as loving. They are not loving. they are clear signals of contempt for you. contempt not love. Look at those behaviors again without your blinders on. For god's sake, someone who behaves like Shiwon is bad news. There's no way you can knowingly approve of his actions. Above all, do not get involved with a Shiwon in RL
and please stop rationalizing the actions of this character. Like him all you want, but you should seriously take off the blindfold and ear plugs and listen to the warnings.
