Su ah...if I were you, I would fck him like theres no tomorrow to the point he can't go to japan anymore.
Knowing Juhyeok... he wouldn't want to have sex. He has already refused to have anal sex. If it also crushed his desire to go to Japan... I'm sure he would be against having sex with Su-ah. Therefore if Su-ah simply did it anyway it would be rape. I know you said it kinda as just a joke Vro.. but I wanted to explain why that joke isn't actually funny if you tried to explain it bit by bit.
sorry i didn't explain this properly, but i am not in support of what the OG post said. i explained it better in a different comment. I was just shocked that someone was willing to basically admit that if they were in Suah's position, they would just rape the MC. sorry for not explaining it properly
So whose gonna end up with ian?? Tbh I haven't started this yet like nothing but I see spoilers and I have a lot of questions. but does ian and jo have ever confess to eo and have a romantic rs? Or he still hang up to tj?? Like whats the status guyss
You should read it still if you can because it's very on point about human relations and deep, complex emotions. How those feelings can bind us, transform us or free us.
Also, nobody is dating anyone so nobody is cheating. Ian's depression, inferiority complex, loyalty, resignation, guilt, regret and acceptance of his situation plays an important role in his relationships. It's not that simple and it shouldn't be romanticized.
Ignore the comments about what many people think is the end game because the story is not over and even if Ian 'has to decide for someone', he's deciding about his whole future and not for a particular individual because TJ and Jo, as important as they are, represent two very different paths he'll follow if he stays with any of them. And since the beginning the only thing Ian wants is a clean future, peace and he can obtain that by being alone really.
People tend to foget about Ian's growth and just focus in what shackles him instead of his true wishes and happiness. And Ian deserves to be happy more than anyone.
It gets tired after a while that they're fighting for shipping and nobody realy reacts on how great this story is.
We don’t know yet! The tension is at all time high right now with the current chapter. I keep going back to this manhwa to check if there’s an update yet but I guess we gotta wait a little bit longer.
The commenter above me pretty much describes what I wanted to say (kudos to them) so I’ll just add my two cents; these 3 characters are complex and has in depth characteristics, we all have different opinions regarding this story depending on how you interpret and read each of these characters, why they behave the way they do, how they might be feeling during the scenes (this is one of the fun part reading wet sand!) and don’t forget this story is all about character development and growth.
I’ve been reading manga since junior high school so it’s been almost 15 years ago and only got into manhwa since Noblesse era and I have to say Wet Sand is one of those story that depicts the deep & complex side of human nature that you see in real life relationship!
Ignore all the dispute between both male leads, it will only confuse you even more (plus it’s tiring to see so much passion and hatred being poured into a character). So no need to get hung up on the TJ & Jo war and just go ahead and read it to see for yourself. Regardless of who’s the endgame or the outcome, it’s all Ian’s choice.
First of all thank you for all the responses...tbh, you really got me there. I’m the type of reader who usually avoids love triangles because I don’t like the pressure of “who ends up with who.” Most of the time, I actually prefer it when the mc ends up alone, especially if the story is more about personal growth, healing, and finding peace rather than romance.
Knowing that Ian’s journey is more about his depression, guilt, acceptance, and choosing a future for himself not choosing between people makes the story sound much deeper than I expected. I like stories where the focus is on the character’s emotional development, not just the romantic outcome.
So instead of being confused about who he’ll end up with, I’m now more interested in how he grows, what he learns, and how he finds his own version of happiness. That kind of story is something I really appreciate. (tho i wanna see ian with someone, so that he won't be alone in his life).
Yeah, I'm the same way and usually I wait until it's finished so I don't get frustrated by couples hahaha but this story is not a romance. At least not in the usual style. There's love, a lot of, but mostly as a catalyst, the force that moves the characters actions in various directions. But of course, love can manifest in different forms and can be tarnished, exploited, crushed or represent a way out and save or condemn us.
One thing about this story is that everything is properly explained. Characters inner thoughts portray their actual feelings without sugarcoating or leaving room for wrong interpretations but one could argue that for plot's sake or personal views. Their desires are clear even if the methods they use to obtain what they want and the journey can be a bit clouded.
It's very emotionally deep, almost frustrating and exhausting. Of course there's a LOT of sex too and sexual tension between the main three. Especially TJ and Ian because of their long history together and power balance in their respective roles in the criminal organization that dictates their whole dynamic. So shipping wars are in order. Both relationships are valid and real but how much those emotional shackles affected Ian's decisions and his final resolution is yet to be seen.
