He actually fell in love with her when they were both young. So I wouldn't say that he's only lusting after her. His constant nagging and overprotectiveness on Maxi is what I hate about him though it's understandable due to what happened to him in the past and since he still thinks that Maxi is a pampered noble weak girl... I still love Riftan though, I'm just waiting for his character development.

Actually Maxi kinda forgot about Riftan when they were young .
Him not asking Maxi about what her life was like in the Croix castle kinda annoyed me and also when he keeps assuming that she's weak and cannot do anything. He just keeps assuming that she's a pampered noble ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ. But hey at least he's not like that ML from Lucia where he's more interested in having sex with the FL and also waking the FL just to have sex

And a warning though.. if you decided to read the novel until its recent updates. You might get annoyed and hate Riftan to the whole new level

I partially agree with this... tho it may have a similar pattern to Cinderella, but don't all trope have them? Try giving it a chance, I feel like the entirety and what the story represent, is pretty meaning full, and just kinda new and refreshing.
An FL who takes a realistic chacter development, Actually takes abuse, anxiety, and stuttering seriously (Most stories I read just seems to make stuttering a fcking stereotype, like as if people in real life don't struggle from it) and How despite given the chance to live a "normal life" she still chooses to change it, and develop herself by her own choice. On going to the story you'll just slowly see her develop! And I hope her development is to your satisfaction!

Tho also Agree with you with the fact that I didn't like riftan that much, but Also give him the chance! Maybe they'll show his view of the story! I really enjoy the authors writing you see, because in real life what happens in our childhood greatly affects our behavior as an adult and it just the author shows it? Like maxi is acting like because of her trauma and Riftan Is acting like thag because of his own reason!

Ps: IDK WHY I GAVE A WHOLE DAMN ESSAY!!! I hope I haven't said anything offensive... But what I was trying to say is that, this story is pretty slow burn, but give them a chance! They might grow on you! (Tho Can't say for sure because people have different tasts and that's fine!)

It has the same formula. A poor girl being tourmented by her family gets to be saved by a rich/hero. I mean pretty classic.
However this story is cringy bc of things like ''a woman belongs to her husband'' (Maxi), " even if you ask to stop I won't bc I cannot control myself '' (sounds rapish, Riftan), or all the moments Riftan is saying ''Fu€k'' after looking at Maxi, is it supposed to be sexy and or be a sign of him being attracted to her ? It's just cringy ! And Riftan is only lusting after Maxi.

Read the novel when you're done and come back. This is far from the Cinderella plot and he's not rapey at all, his pov is also out there

Exactly ! Things are depicted differently in the novel. We're talking about the manhwa here so I'm going to judge what I am seeing/reading. Riftan behavior is not cute. And the whole ''ugly duckling'' / a mistreated girl being save by a glorious man is the core of all Cinderella's type of story.
