no i believe it's good that him being handsome was given irredeemable traits because it sets aside the stereotype of villains having pedo or similar traits like that to be ugly and fat when even someone handsome can be doing something more cruel and disgusting things.
That is SUCH a great point. I've always noticed this—ugly and fat or have unconventional features? Evil. And they're always contrasted with conventionally attractive people as the markers of all that is right and moral.

I get many people idolize handsome people and ignore their crimes just because of their "looks" which is btw very disturbing to come across and this might very well happen with this character too so it's ok to wish he didn't have those traits attached to him but this is art a reflection and distortion of reality esp. when this genre where they're showing the real cruelty of the world we live in, it's very well aligned to have a handsome, disturbing villain because proper villain is a type of fantasy afterall!
