I'm curious why the author chose to end it here, but there's a Q&A coming next week that might explain things. I was under the impression we were heading towards something more melancholy; this 'love wins all' sort of deal feels like tonal whiplash with what was just happening. There needed to be more in between if this was the intended finish. :/
I was expecting a bit more of a resolution than that. It seems like after the hiatus the author decided not to continue.
I knew it got cancelled, but nothing could have prepared me for THAT abrupt of an ending. Did the author only find out the day of posting the chapter or something?
honestly, it's not the new style that bothers me most. i feel like the writing for je-oh has changed completely. through the first two seasons he was someone capable who tried to use his shortcomings to his advantage despite the shit hand he was dealt. now he's characterized like a more typical uke archtype. weak, vulnerable, and unstable under duress.
feels weird to read after the author literally stating in the s1 finale notes the je-oh did weight training so he could 'beat someone to a pulp'. where did all his cunning and inner strength go?
I completely agree. I loved je-oh character in the first season but this new season feels like a completely different person and just makes me feel sad.
