Spoiler ahead.
For those who love spoilers. Ima give main spoilers ahead.
1- the FL tried to kill herself again, but just like before heiner saves her. They get divorced.
2- FL starts living with cathrine(the girl she spoke with before trying to unalive herself the first time)
3-she joins the war as a nurse in the frontlines, heiner comes to know about it and puts her in the back side work (I forgot what they called it, but it's safe place of work, not the frontlines)
4- Annette helps heiner in solving a crypto msg from the docs that heiner acquired from a spy in padania. Heiner wants her big help to be recognised, he asks her about what he wants and she said 2 things to promise, one of which is that she never wants to see him again in future, and he grants it.
5- Annette was moved to a different place far from the bombing area, but unexpectedly the bombing takes place there as well. She gets stuck in church with the French guys(whom padania are in war with). She meets heiner's old friend who betrayed heiner in the past, there she gets to know what heiner went through when he was a trainee(I'm not gonna spoil that atleast, bcz you read it and ugh, ima cry). She regrets not asking him about his past.
6- while stuck in the church, the French solders decide to kill all of the people, including civilians, which were 99%. Heiner comes to know about the church massacre after 2 days(I think) and leaves everything behind to go to that place. Almost Everyone was rescued but they couldn't find Annette. (I'm not gonna go into details, bcz the desperation of heiner described in the novel is soo good.) he saves Annette. And when she recovers she pushed her away, as she asked him that promise. But Annette waits for him and they talk about it.
7- next arc is about heiner being successful at winning the war, whereas Annette and heiner are working on their misunderstandings. And the end.. will I'm not gonna spoil it. Lol
Is the novel worth it? I dropped halfway cus it seems she doesn’t have a backbone and easily forgive ml after just a few chapters （￣へ￣）
Depends on how you understand the story.
If you see it from the perspective of like how the ML treated the FL in the and just view the bad things he did to her, yes you might think that she forgave him easily.
But when you look from the ML perspective, when he hurt the FL he could have been worst and killed her as well. But he couldn't, because deep down he loved and cared for her. But just didn't knew it, because of the brainwashing he did to himself. But once he realizes that he was wrong, he lets go her for her own happiness. They both are equal victims, from their past. He hurt her because he didn't knew how to love. She just didn't tired to learn the real ML, never asked him what his past was, she just assumed it was all for revenge. If she did, things might not have become this bad.
Idk it’s so complicated and I tend to be on the-ignorance is not a sin-side which is why I hate the fact that everyone blame on the innocent person just to feel better about themselves including the ML who blame MC but contradicted himself with a st*pid reason by not telling or letting MC know the truth. (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ maybe I’m shallow mind (￣∇￣")

If you look, jaekyoung is also furrowing his brows. it could be that he’s sad but I do also think that when people very earnestly embrace / feel a lot of emotion embracing and seeking comfort then they also furrow their eyebrows (like jk is doing). Combined with the “squeeze” sound effect it could be that he’s hugging jaekyoung back hard. Orrrr he could be sad that’s still possible
