I can't believe people don't like Sei. Like of course she has misunderstandings on what happened since Soobin literally hid the truth from her all these years. Plus she's literally a child. Soobin neglected her all those years and in her eyes it made no sense, of course she resents him. And it's not like Soobin ever tries to make amends with her or talk with her that im aware of, all he does is work and live in the same house as her. How is she supposed to know Soobin cares for her when she's never shown it.
Obviously i don't think Soobin is a bad person. He's of course had a very difficult time with being an orphan and has to deal with so many things at a young age. I'm just explaining Seis perspective.
It's like how people hate Gabi from AOT so much yet glaze the ever living hell out of Eren even though they are literally the different sides of the same coin.
I know it happens cause people hate complex female characters that don't constantly act nice and polite all the time. There's so much more leeway given men. Like Woori was suchhh an ass to Soobin but no reader is holding a grudge on him for that.
I completely understand sei, I was also like his brother back then, that scene where the brother had slapped her was very. Relatable looking back I can't believe I forced my sister to be "mature" now she's looking for unconditional love or someone who would just understand her. Their mother is similar to mine so I regret what I did every single day, since I already left that household

I have so much to say about this story and the majority of it is not good. Its disappointing because the art style is so gorgeous and the character design is nice.
I was left bored reading this, which is crazy since I love reading slop. But it just felt so tedious to continue this as the situations the characters were going through felt so cliché . I don't care for Kella or any of his crew members. They all feel not only one dimensional, but too similar to one another. There is no tension, or really even chemistry amoung them. Frankly the original Kellas and Rins relationship felt more compelling as there was a clear tension between them. Now Rin is just constantly simping over Kella and that fun(although negative) tension from their original relationship almost immediately dissapeared. The author did attempt to write fun crews interaction together but they failed to sway me. Even the slight animosity the crew members had with each other at the beginning was thrown away so quickly, except for rin cause she sorta jealous of Skrill.
Not to mention how much plot amour the main cast has. I really can't have fun reading a story when the author keeps pulling out another deus ex machina situation out of their ass over and over again. The stakes don't even feel real, at the beginning I had some hope but over and over again whenever the charcters are in trouble they just face their ancestors spirit and start talking to them and then magically gain a powerup just in the nick of time. Really the conflict doesn't seem real at all when we know its going to get magically resolved with the power of friendship or some spirit talking to you at the brink of death.
And the author keeps doing flashbacks to make you more interested in the characters, but heres a lesson for any writers out there. Backstory only helps, if the character are interesting beforehand.
Actually one thing I liked was Cillian and his crew. I might argue that Cillian is the most fun character in this story, I wanted to see more of him, and perhaps part of that is due to the fact that his design appeals to me. His brother dies from his battle with the demon king, and so of course he wants to end the demonian royal bloodline. Cillians interest in Skrill is also interesting, but has yet to be explored much. I also like how there is some animosity between the crew and how they aren't this perfect partnership, especially with Deeds character.
During the battle between Cillian and Kella, it kept infuriating me since it seemed like Cillian was basically talking to a brick wall. Cillian kept mentioning his brother but there was no reaction or real response to this from Kella. Really would have been interesting to see Kellas perspective on the whole situation. Especially since Cillians brother, (I forget his name) was shown( through the little we know of him) to be a kind person.
Also, its crazy to me just how easily Skrill betrayed the humans. She was esentially raised by humans, and treated horribly by the demonians, yet no she is just somehow 100% loyal without a shadow of a doubt to her father(which she met once) and her older brother, which she has never met before. How is she so loyal to a group that never treated her right and that she barely knows?!?I dont mean that Skrill shouldn't have joined Kellas group, but the fact that there was such a great opportunity to show a phychological dilemma that could also cause some interesting conflict from Skrills character and the author choose to not utilize it at all. Like it could have been interesting to see some conflicting emotion from her, seeing as her commander(Cillians brother) and her seemed relatively close. It could have been amazing if Skrill were to see her father the demon king and her commander fighting, and she would be conflicted internally about the whole situation. who should she root for, the person that made her yet who she has only had a few glimpses of, or the person she has likely been standing side by side for many battles. But of course nah, thats never explored. Skrills relationship with her commander is never explored. The original owner of Kellas body is barely even mentioned. Because of course, anything that would cause an actual conflict that would actually be compelling and difficult to solve would never be added to such a shitty story!!!
I also hate how his great grandfather Tarq or whatever his name is, keeps showing up. Like why is he talking to Kella just to tell him to have kids with the glasses girl?!? Could the character not think about it by himself?, what is the point legitimately. Is Kella incapable to doing anything without his grandpapa telling him?!?!?!??!
