Honestly I have some hope with this one !! Cause like usually they keep situationships super cold. No stays over, no “kissing”. Never talking about their lives or whatever. And the top will always put some distance every time there’s a minor improvement in their relationships.

But with this story the set up is clear on both parts. The top was open about why he likes this arrangement. They’re both getting something out of it (for now). And they communicate pretty good.
So I feel like it could be surprising.

Yeah got that feeling that didn’t sincerely fell in love but resigned into it. But still, the dream did make illic realize the importance of sayan’s living existence and in a twisted way, finally a step forward in their relationship even though its so late in their life

Hey guys, in the novel Ilic actually does have a dream that Sayan will die, and even though he doesn't die in the novel itself, it is heavily implied that he will die later on because he is super sick. Also, Ilic never actually tells him that he "loves" him, as that was added in the webtoon. In fact, it is made pretty clear that even though Ilic understands they are a couple and cares for him, he doesn't love him the same way Sayan does, like true love. On Twitter, someone asked the author to please tell us if Ilic actually loves Sayan in the end and she said she would "leave it to our imagination," but that is what the novel implies, that he doesn't love him the way Sayan wants. Then in another tweet someone begged her to please just say he loves him and she literally said "no" xD, meaning she won't confirm it but it is understood that he doesn't love him. I was reading another forum discussing the ending of this novel and honestly everyone feels the exact same way xD In fact, if you go back and read this webtoon with that mindset, you'll realize it really is like that.

It really is sad.
I don't agree with the things sayan did to ilic and I know it really is more realistic this way maybe more if he hated sayan
But I can't stop feeling sad for them.
For sayan who fell in love once and everything but with the wrong person and loving him all life but never once felt loved
And of course for ilic whose freedom was stolen and was raped all the time and never chose to be with him
This made made me depressed the whole day after I finished it

The author did a great job blue balling us because we are so used to main bl couples falling in love in the same level at the end despite harsh beginnings but author says no we can’t have that here so we were left with just the consolation that they atleast lived their lived together till the end of their days (≧∀≦)
