Am I the only one still not getting the Gilsangcheon thing bc the way the brother is describing it, it really seems like tay just gets a feeling when something bad is going to happen and not much else. Maybe the novel explains it more clearly?
Outside of logic, Tay is a lucky charm but only for Jay. The examples they give are when jay was kidnapped and tay had a nagging feeling or got sick, so he wanted to see him. I believe when Jay experiences good luck, tay will experience bad luck. The first example may have been when Jay first left and tay went to the base (the start of the bad experiences for tay)
jay seems to have had plenty of luck even without tay around tho, like when ilay tried to shoot him with a gun and the gun failed. I know jay said that tay 'dispels the bad luck' but like, the main examples are "tay went to go see jay, then jay got kidnapped" and "jay refused to go see tay in the hospital, then jay got kidnapped" and there just seems to be no difference between whether tay interacts with jay or not
Think of them as yin and yang. Jaeui was blessed with his genius but in exchange, he literally attracts all the bad omens. Taeui was blessed with good luck but at the cost of his brother. They balance each other out, just to a more extreme degree. So yeah jaeui wasn’t lying when he said he’d literally die if taeui dies as well. All the bad luck will catch up to his ass and he’d just croak. Taeui on the other hand has had a track record of near misses aka good ass luck. Consider having a literal psycho falling for him is one of the best examples of his luck. It really is a miracle he isn’t dead.
Something so quietly heartbreaking about this story, from the first chapter to the last. Absolutely masterful.
